  1. I just want to rant a little... How can vendors NOT allow you to register products that you have purchased OUTSIDE of their website, from resellers? It's a pretty pathetic statement about these companies... Two such companies are Keepforest, and Sound Yeti. The ONLY way that products will show in your account is if you bought them directly from THEIR website. Otherwise, it's a no-go! I have several Keepforest Libraries, and the ONLY ones that show up in their Download manager are the ones that I purchased DIRECTLY from Keepforest. Otherwise there is NO WAY to register purchases with Keepforest, so you are just SOL. Same goes for Sound Yeti products...if you buy from a 3rd party, you can't register them at Sound Yeti, which seems QUITE RIDICULOUS since all you would have to do is register the NI Serial # on the Sound Yeti site for them to show up in your account. This day and age this just seems like PURE LAZINESS on the part of these Devs...and a sheer lack of caring about their customers. End of rant...

  3. Sheesh, I hope this doesn't lead to someday somebody saying, "Do you remember that day when that idiot with a cat name just had to tell a stupid joke that lightheartededly relied on religion and it ended up getting him and Larry banned???" Hopefully the mods have a sense of humor.

  6. Don't ask me why I keep buying Waves plugins, nor does my psychiatrist know the answer. I have purchased Scheps Omni Channel.

  12. I went and bought a plugin before noticing Larry's extra discount code. That means I missed out on the extra savings. Let that be a lesson to all of you kids out there. Don't press that buy button until you hear from Larry, he's the man. If there's a way an already really low sale price can go even lower, Larry knows it.

  13. Here's a specialized plugin for adjusting the response curve of a keyboard control (ie. Volume, Modulation, etc,) called CSResponseCurve Of course, you can use it for any CC, I just made it to address a specific issue raised by @gmp to balance volume response between an external keyboard/TG and a VST. Download it here as usual. Hope it works!

  14. Thanks for listening noynekker! I'll often get ideas from sitting at the piano and improvising. At that point I don't record anything, I don't notate anything, I just play and listen and experiment. Actual composition begins when I am in front of Cakewalk with the notation editor open. I sometimes begin with a melody or a short melodic motive, or a rhythmic pattern, or sometimes a harmonic progression. There's no one right way to begin composing a piece! I do have some idea before I begin writing what I want, for example, is it going to be a symphonic movement? What length? Will it be for samples only, synths only or both? Will it be a short piano piece? A song with vocals? Once I decide what I am composing then I start to write. If, after 20 or 30 measures I start to feel it's not going anywhere (about 20% of the time) I abandon it and start over. But if the opening begins to grow on me I get inspired and go to work. I am a big believer in the "economics of composition", meaning how does a composer make a lot out of a little? In most longer pieces, in order to achieve unity and cohesiveness, there are only a few main ideas; perhaps a main theme, one or two sub-themes or motives, and that's that. Too many ideas creates disunity, too few ideas spread out over time can result in too much repetition and/or predictability. So there you go! I hope this is helpful to you in your own composition efforts. Best, Jerry p.s. For those who don't think that CW's notation editor is a very useful tool, I think my compositions and recordings show otherwise. It would be impossible for me to create the kind of music I do by using the piano roll view. I spend most of my composition time in the notation editor, the event list, the controller view and the tempo view..

  17. Only hitch in that is there will no longer be any humanity left to sell plugins to! Just a sign that says "Final Waves Sale!".

  18. It's a given, but with no competition left, there will never be another Waves sale. Everything will sell for full price and WUP will be mandatory. Oh, the humanity!!!

  21. Similarly, if I'm on a big purge (not so much these days) I rename VstPlugins to VstPlugins.old and then create a new VstPlugins folder to drag in the ones I like. It's also a good debugging technique if you've got a project that keeps crashing whilst loading.

  25. It's the Deep Solo Viola library (Studio Quartet Series). Not sure why they added the 'emotional' tag. Maybe it's a Christmas edition with a single preset you can't change - sustain vibrato with a lush reverb.

  32. Just received an email from PSP. I did a search and couldn't see it posted. @Fleer see 1! CHANGES & NEW FEATURES: 1. Apple Silicon native support, 2. Added high resolution graphics for VST2.4 and VST3 and AAX formats for Windows PC 3. Added high resolution graphics and retina support for VST2.4, VST3, AAX and AU formats for macOS 4. The brand new Preset System - added sorting presets by categories; added Undo/Redo functionality; improved A/B functionality; improved save/load preset experience; 5. New graphical engine for MAC computers: overall smoothness improvement, 6. New graphical engine for MAC computers: reduced CPU drain, 7. Optimized loading times of GUI (MAC & PC), BUG FIXES: 1. Minor bugs fixed, 2. Improved compatibility with the latest versions of popular DAWs, 3. Improved compatibility with the latest systems. KNOWN PROBLEMS: - routing problem on multi channel (more than 2 channels) tracks in Reaper. The right channel is muted when the VST 3 plug-in is inserted. We advice to use VST 2.4. version on such tracks. TO BE DONE: 1. Improving stability between VST3 version of the plugin and Ableton Live host application, 2. Proper track routing in Reaper for more audio channels than two. Download from your account

  33. I totally understand - but they could have treated me (us?) as a 'normal' PG customer. I see no reason why buying from a reseller should be different from buying direct....which I think is the point Larry was making in this thread ?

  36. I bought mine from Audiodeluxe in the early days of Unify. If you bought it from PG then they have a record in your account which makes it easy for them to deposit any updates in your account. If you bought it from a 3rd party then they set it up so that updates could be obtained via ILIO. For the first few updates this didn't work very well as folk who bought from PG direct had updates as they were released. However, anyone who bought from a 3rd party, like us, had to wait for days until they had the same updates from ILIO. In fairness, after some pressure from users, PG did make it so that updates were released at ILIO and PG at the same time. So the latest release, for example, was available to all at the same time. As a small company I think they have responded reasonably.

  37. Merry Christmas from Swan Audio Dear We are running a 30% discount Christmas sale - that means high quality preset packs from only ÂŁ13.99! Live now until end of December. Thank you so much for the support on the Modern OB and OB Bundle release in November which was our best yet. All packs apart from those two latest are in the sale. We wanted to offer a sale this year, and also maintain the integrity of the launch offer made to our loyal subscribers. So if you want to pick up some of the other releases to add to your collection now is the time! Best wishes and thanks for being a music maker with refined taste Steve https://swanaudio.co.uk/

  40. I have a standard USB with three folders for WAVES, Black rooster and Overloud and any other plugs that need similar going forward. In the WAVES CENTRAL utility you just choose per plugin where the lic is installed - cloud, USB stick, C Drive

  43. Got around all the pain of waves licenses and different systems via saving the Lics to USB via waves central. Then what ever system you are using just make sure that USB is attached before launching DAW. Works fine for me, no stress

  44. Unfortunately, doesn’t sound stupid at all. Many of my older Waves plugins are too small to read on a modern computer. Omni is not terribly small, but it is rather congested, so could use a boost to the bigger size . So I guess my choice is WUPing that for about $3 (assuming can apply $10 off to WUP) or spending about $20 (after $10 off) to complete one of the smaller bundles, which would have the net effect of making the GUIs of about 3 plugins (that I’d actually use) readable.
