  1. Yeah, not really seeing the appeal of that one TBH. I may end up having to flip a coin to decide between Insomnia and Humanized. Maybe slightly leaning towards Insomnia just because it's something for LL rather than the usual suspects, but then again...... That's it............I've decided........ to postpone any further procrastination until tomorrow.

  2. There are also plugins (Meldaproduction, FabFilter) that make use of the GPU, and that's a moving target.

  4. It s not the same coders i feel a clear difference , the compression is more open and solid on red , it s smoother on green , the opto on red introduce a small roll off , while it is clean on green , the vca on red is superb. Some for me it s green on indiv sources , while i keep the red for busses , be sure to play with the sidechain filter and type of trans(iron ect...)

  5. I have tried this now on a few songs where I had previously used Pro-L 2 (with Oxford Inflator in some cases) and I have to say the results are very favourable even using the auto mode. Definitely worth trying if you are on the fence. I am going to get the crossgrade. Makes me think I should give Smart EQ 3 another go.

  6. No brainer. Added it, £16 for me. Straight on the OH BUS. Finally took an ultra wide angle of the drums btw :).

  7. John and his Plugin Guru team have continued to make Unify a must have tool. His latest library is MM Keys! This is a wonderful collection that includes his mother's Yamaha C3 grand, along with her U1 Upright, he sampled at his parents home. Intro price $89 (reg. $99), until Jan. 6. More info here: https://www.pluginguru.com/products/pluginguru-mm-keys/ Also here is a fun cover I did of Harry Conick Jr.'s It Must Have Been Ol' Santa Clause using MM Keys, enjoy!

  8. I have to say that none of the Marshall Jubilee vst's sound like the original. Softube/UAD and IKM has come the closest IMO, but still doesn't do this amp justice. I had to sell my Marshall 2555 10 or so years ago, and have missed it since. It had a quite broad pallet of sounds for being a Marshall, and could sound heavier on its own than any of the Marshall Jubilee Amp sims out there. Rant over.

  9. I almost picked up all 4 (with 60% off you can get viola, violin and bass for $115 and get cello free.) Then I realized I recently picked up Komplete 13 CE upgrade and hadn't even installed the Cremona quartet. Lol. Maybe I try that first before blowing more cash! lol.

  10. It would be nice if Toontrack added re-scaling to EZkeys and EZdrummer. So far only EZbass has that, and it's the newest one.

  11. In some cases, true. That was my initial reaction to the Analog Orchestra, especially the brass. But many of the reed and string sounds are musical and usable, as are the percussions. Plus, if you are into sound design, there are probably some new VA programming tricks to be learned by disassembling a few of these presets in the synth editor. 🤓

  15. It has gone down significantly to $249. With me having Melodyne, I sure ain't paying this much for something Melodyne can do.

  16. That seems like such an inconsistent "marketing strategy" to me. I mean, they have an insane $20 deal on their Drumstrip right now into January. Do they really expect to sell any of these new ridiculously priced EQs? (No offense is someone has bought it.)

  17. Went over to the Dark Side (they have cookies), and purchased. About 1 hour left for the deal. Watched the video: (1) noted that this particular EZX has an atypically larger mixer than is usually found on "standard" EZXs, (2) contained a number of MIDI grooves and (3) crash cymbals placed on some drums. Product Demo: Toontrack Claustrophobic EZX

  25. This is why I got the Analog Orchestra patches. I have over a terabyte of symphonic instrument sample libs, so I know nothing here is going to compare. What it does give me is a starting point- "I want a synth that sounds kind of like a ... " Load the patch in VA-3 and tweak from there.

  26. Hmm don't hold your breath, I contacted support recently to ask that very question, here was the reply: "Thanks for your email. We really appreciate your feedback. Right now Toontrack Support does not have any confirmation on a future version of EZkeys that will include an updated interface to match EZbass and Superior Drummer 3. Unfortunately, we are not able to provide any details for future plans on EZkeys." Make of that what you will. Roughly translated I think it says: 'we're quite happy with the cash cow model thanks, and we'll just keep on shipping those expansion packs' Andy

  27. Shame they steadfastly refuse to update EzKeys - that old non-scalable GUI is looking very tired in comparison with EzBass. I can never tell what most of these 'updates' do either. Andy

  28. Why are you using BandLab Assistant to update CbB? It has not been necessary for some time. Starting with 2020.09, CbB has an update option on its help menu. If you are updating from a version older than 2020.09, try the Cakewalk Web Installer.

  33. Exact , what's als convenient is their vocal strip , drums strip ect .. i have each section solid on other plugins (transient designer : elysia , sub harmonics : voice of god , gate : fabfilter ect*..) but the fact that you have everything solid in one plugins makes it dope specially for people with reduced arsenal .... it also waranty quality in each process ... The fusion line , i have mixed feeling , they're doing the opposit lol splitting a superb combo .... money is the target , not convenience at least we could have a full plugin and then elements ....

  35. Softube is aware of other amp sim as simple as that , even neural dsp , when they release like for exemple the last stuff , it is 4 amps , pedals , cabs ect ....so at the end it s more around 25 per amp ...softube is smart to do that to push then people to use amp room as an incitation sonce the marshall integration is exellent .... To sum up , they try to make people think of those as add ons , not singles , and sonthe price needs to fallow , it is actually less expensive than a 35$ amplitube amp ...

  39. I keep thinking that they might add Amp Room: Marshall Edition to the HOLIDAYSPECIALS sale. This contains the Plexi, Silver Jubilee, JMP 2203, & Bluesbreaker 1962–and the eight cabs from Marshall Cabinet Collection. However, my current upgrade price from standard Amp Room to Marshall Edition is 178 EUR, so it seems better to grab each of these $19 deals and make my own Marshall Edition piece by piece. Does that make sense, or am I missing something that Amp Room: Marshall Edition would include by doing it this way? Of course I'm assuming that all Marshall Edition amps will eventually be in the HOLIDAYSPECIAL sale which might not happen.

  42. Thanks Noel. My suggestion would be to invert the new behaviour so a drag 'straight up' gives the full bar as per example B , and if you want to bring it in as per Example C you would then drag a little to right. You'd have the dual benefit of retaining the existing workflow but also incorporating the new method with a slight modification.

Right click on the Banks list, click on the ''Restore my Preset Banks'' Menu.'

  47. We're pleased to announce the 2021.12 release! This release introduces support for nested track folders, localization updates, various enhancements and optimizations, and over 50 bug fixes. Please note that in order to automatically keep your activation status up to date, Cakewalk will renew your activation status whenever a new version of the application is installed and run for the first time, and when you sign in to BandLab from within Cakewalk. If you have never signed in to BandLab from within Cakewalk, you will be prompted once to sign in. Thanks, The Bakers For new feature details, see New Features. Should you need to revert to the 2021.11 release, you can download the Cakewalk 2021.11 Rollback installer. 2021.12 Highlights Support for nested track folders To improve track organization, Cakewalk now supports nested track folders. A nested folder is a subfolder that is contained within another parent folder. Nested subfolders allow you to organize tracks more logically. For example, you can have a "Guitar" parent folder that contains "Electric" and "Acoustic" subfolders. To only move tracks into another folder, drag one of the tracks or select Move To... from the context menu of one of the tracks. To move the entire folder, drag the folder itself onto another folder, or select Move To... from the context menu of the folder. If a track is in a folder, selecting Move To Folder >New Track Folder will create a new sub-folder at the same level of that track. Note: As with the top level folders, any empty folders (i.e. specifically, folders containing no tracks) will ALWAYS appear below those containing tracks. Tip: When changing the color of a track folder, hold down the CTRL key to apply the same color to all child tracks within the folder. New behavior when dragging tracks/folders Dragging a track to the left side moves it out of the folder. Dragging to the right side moves it to the bottom of the existing folder at the target location (i.e. same level as the track above). Tip: While dragging, look at the left edge of the drop indicator - it will be exactly at the folder depth the track will be placed at. Expand/collapse track folder modifiers SHIFT+click on folder +/- to expand/collapse entire folder hierarchy of the folder you clicked on. CTRL+SHIFT+click on folder +/- to expand/collapse all folders in project. This is convenient if you want to quickly expand the hierarchy to search for a track, but then want to collapse it all. A note about nested track folders and track templates: The Save as Track Template context menu is only available on tracks, not on folders. If you want to save a track template with subfolders, you must right-click on one of the tracks within the subfolder. A track template cannot contain empty folders. Localization update The French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese and Russian versions of Cakewalk have been updated. Misc. enhancements Upgrade to VST3 SDK 3.7.3 Upgrade to ELASTIQUE SDK 3.3.9 (contains fixes for ELASTIQUE stretching) Upgrade to latest ARA 2.0 SDK Behavior changes In order to accommodate screen readers, the TAB key is no longer bound to "Tab to transients" by default. You can re-enable this function again in Edit > Preferences > Customization - Keyboard Shortcuts; bind the TAB key to AudioSnap Go To Next Transient Marker and bind SHIFT+TAB to AudioSnap Go To Previous Transient Marker. The Archive button is now a tri-state button in order to indicate if a track folder contains a mixture of archived and unarchived tracks. Note: If you use a custom user theme, you must update the Archive button in Theme Editor (found under Tack View > Track Pane > Archive) in order for the Archive button to display correctly. In the meantime, switch to the factory Tungsten or Mercury theme. The previous Archive button image has 5 states and is 122 pixels wide. The new Archive button has 8 states and is 176 pixels wide. The button states are the same as the Mute Tri-State button (from left to right): Normal | Normal Down | Normal Hover | Selected | Selected Down | Selected Hover | Disabled | Tri-state.
