  1. Tiger the Frog is Back! Ever since I made the decision to not do the sale thread I've regretted it. It's something I really enjoy. To hell with the book! I'll be starting up on November 1st as usual. The sales don't really start until mid-November and of course they go crazy the last week.

  2. I don't want to participate in the rant, I just want to give info. And it is what I have done from the start. I know you were responding to Kenny, but since I have been involved in reporting this problem, I do feel I need to clarify my position. First, I would caution people in blaming AT5 taking forever to load up. When an app is starting up, all of its files are checked by your virus scan! Depending on how efficient your virus scan is, this may have an impact and not AT5's fault at all. If you are up to it, you can temporarily disable your virus scanner and start AT5 so you can see which is really causing the slow load. I have opened a ticket exactly a month ago, about the CPU usage, not the loading time. The ticket number is #3712804. I was asked to send info about my machine, which I did. I was told they where looking into this with other users. I answered I would gladly offer more help if needed. If you want to check the status of the ticket, I leave it to you to decide, but would be grateful to get any news. My intervention in reporting this as always been to help, IK and its users. I honestly want AT5 to be the best product of its kind and if I see something that could potentially derail it from that, I will report it. If the devs want to test on my machine, either by sending beta versions that I test or even connecting remotely to my machine, they are welcome to it! I will be glad to work with them on this. The problem with this increase in CPU usage is that it probably affects everyone to some degree. But, if you have a recent more powerful machine you will probably not notice it. For example, if you have a recent, powerful machine and AT5 used to take 1% CPU usage and it doubles to 2%, it won't be apparent and you won't care even if you are made aware of it. If you have an older machine and it used to take 5% CPU usage and it then doubles to 10%, you will notice and will care that it does. On a multi guitar tracks song, it is of course even more noticeable and can bring your mix to its knees. Some facts about the problem: AT5 approximately doubled its CPU usage from version 5.0.3 to 5.1.0, at least on some machine if not all. There was no big functionality added, as per the release notes, for the user between these 2 versions that would warrant this. Support and devs have been made aware of the problem and responded they are looking into it. Some solutions proposed by me and others: Stick to AT5 5.0.3. Not the best thing since we all want the new stuff, especially the X-Gear, but can do while the devs look into it. Upgrade your machine. This would help in many ways other than with AT5, but is certainly not feasible for many and buying AT5 should probably not come with this requirement. At least, I don't want to upgrade just yet a machine that performs really well in all other aspects. Let's not send our PCs too quickly to the landfill, it is not ecological. Mine is an i7-4790. Old, but audio work is not as intensive as video work for example, and should still do fine for a while. Freeze tracks. This is probably the best solution, but it is time consuming.

  3. I understand you are frustrated but you seem quite aggressive toward me and/or IK. Just trying to help. I didn't know that pointing someone to the right place to report an issue to get fixed was a bad thing. Learn something new every day. You are welcome to post wherever you want, but the only thing that might get fixed with that is your frustration and likely only temporarily. I'm also confused by this apparent connection/obsession with IK "making bank" with this promotion. That does not and has never had anything to do with supporting our customers. We always have and always will. We also have indeed "made bank" on a regular basis or we wouldn't be celebrating 25 years in business but again I don't know that has anything to do with an issue you are having with one of our products or the effectiveness of any resolution to that problem. If you open a ticket you can likely get to experience AmpliTube 5 like others here whose experience is a much faster opening and overall smooth experience. Others may have noticed some irregular/high CPU usage and of course that can and should be reported too. The support team takes their jobs seriously and will gather data from multiple people who report an issue, try to recreate it and (most important) assess any similarity/common threads (pun intended) of a problem and get it resolved for those who are having it. A trackable support system that allows a company's support staff to gather and share data is much more effective a means to resolving issues than finding posts and making guesses based on scattered information. Either way, I'm sure any issue can be resolved and if anybody has opened a ticket and they are not satisfied with how it is going or needs me to bump someone for some clarification I can and surely will. I'm willing to help and I do understand that frustration can result in aggression so just let me know if and when you do need/want my assistance if you haven't had luck with the support system. Thanks!

  4. F.w.i.w.... I'm running AT 5.2.0 on my laptop. It has an I7 8750H processor. Load time is 12 seconds and the CPU hit is negligible. It loads the 4 X-Gear pedals without issue.

  5. I posted this quite a while ago.. but have done a remix of it. Somehow there was something missing in my ears/eyes.. (it was a more powerful/sound/message). As I have learnt more over the years I am asking for opinions on this mix. There is a lot of emotion in my vocal... but I chose to leave it in. Though the vocal is not perfect I didn't want to loose that emotion. This was a calibration with @Grem and @Simeon Amburgey Thanks for taking the time to listen. Original

  7. I'm done. No Tape Machines for me, only 3 X-Gear pedals. (only???) I guess I'd rather be making stuff right now rather than mixing. Besides, now I can get the tapes as a bundle if they go on sale. They sound amazing by the way. I was leaning towards the 440 as my single pick. Then I listened to the demo on the X-Gear Vibe and picked it. Thanks IK and @Peter - IK Multimedia for all of the plugins! Where to start? Wow.

  15. Amplitube 5 (latest version) loaded in 10 seconds for me. Launched again immediately and it was 4 seconds. I have no doubt the issues you're reporting on your end are true. Sure sounds like your experience is incredibly frustrating, Kenny, but to take it out on Peter... two wrongs don't make a right. I hope you get your issue resolved because Amplitube 5 is a great product.

  19. Cakewalk relies on a proper installation of various Microsoft runtime libraries for several components (as do many other Windows programs). You can read more about the Microsoft redistributables here. While the Cakewalk application only uses the latest runtime libraries, there are other components and plugins that may utilize earlier libraries. Hence the Cakewalk installer additionally installs some of the older versions of these libraries that are used by certain known modules and plugins. Occasionally the Microsoft runtime libraries installation may get damaged by installing other programs (or even Windows update itself!) by installing incompatible components or removing necessary runtime components that are required for proper operation of Cakewalk. If this happens. the typical symptoms are crashes or hangs on starting Cakewalk or opening a project. A clean install of Cakewalk will always install the necessary components required for proper operation of the program, and typically restore normal operation. However, its not always convenient to reinstall the application, so we've built a new redistributable installer to help repair a system that doesn't contain all the necessary runtime libraries. You may download the new redistributable installer here. Running this installer will reinstall all required runtime library dependencies and should in most cases be able to recover from a damaged installation.

  23. Hey thanks! It's that doubling effect that has some folks with older PC's concerned. As in multi-tracks with the plugin could drag the PC down quickly. I'm sure it's fine in standalone with just one instance.

  25. Cool song and Great job by Everybody. Who is doing the vocals ? I'm hearing an EQ change on the mix from around 2:33 to about 3:00 where the highs seem to drop out then come back in. It seems pretty obvious especially on the lead guitar. I think the lead could be ducked a little under the vocals and brought back up between phrases. Just my first impressions. I Really enjoyed it , don't hear much metal around here .. mark

  27. Very nicely done work garybrun....the new mix is louder and a brighter than the original and i do prefer it over the original mix...i enjoy the music in the piece as it is really good enough to stand alone on its own as an instrumental...you have a very good voice and did a great job singing this ( i am sorry but i don't know the name of the piece, i saw OMD and thought it was a cover of an Orchestral Maneuvers in the Dark song 😉 ) cheers 🎹🎻🎶🎵

  28. https://www.acousticsamples.net/vhorns 169 euro. Interesting, not perfect, but very interesting. I'm hearing a lot of realism solo, some cool potential for use in a section, and maybe a bit of pitchiness in just a few notes here and there. Celemony could assist. ?

  29. yeah, i also use Jam Origin's MIDI Guitar 2, but it helps to have a few synth VST plugins to make full use of it (there are some decent free ones out there if cost is an issue). word has it that a new version of the software is coming out soon & if you already own MIDI Guitar 2, the new version will be free

  37. ^^^ What Nigel says! And dudes and dudettes, if you haven't checked out his music writing skills yet, follow the YouTube link in his sig, you will be happy you did. Excellent music AND videos. And a shoutout to Nigel for sending the Regeneration CD to my niece here in France so I'd have it when I arrived after moving here from the States. All of my CDs (the 25% that I kept and shipped to France) are on a ship heading to Rotterdam, so Regeneration is the only CD I have at the moment!

  42. Well...I did a bad thing...I now have 31 freebies. I didn't have Sampletron II, so I bought that for $136 by buying 200 Credits for $159.99 - 15% off coupon I had, and then used the Jampoints that I received from that to get The Resonator for $35.. $171 for BOTH products and 24 more freebies, in addition to the 7 I already had! (believe me, there is METHOD to this Madness!) Only thing that I don't have now is the Tascam Collection, which I can live without until it's on a good sale...My cost right now is $90.99 due to the discount for TS3 Max...so will have to wait to see if anything sells on KVR or until it goes on sale later
