The input level is controlled by your Audio Interface. Set that so the peak light is as per instructions with your interface. You did read the instructions didn’t you?2 points

If you move the threshold slider or knob deep in to a ridiculous point, you cannot mistake the sound of over-compressed, lifeless music gasping for air!!! Take a while and leave it there and listen. Eventually, you will always be able to hear where the correct settings will be. It won't hurt to use different formats of music to get an idea what settings work for what type of music. I, too, can't tell you how many times I have been told by some pretty big heavyweights in the business to stop relying on the meters so much and use your ears more. I still struggle between the two!!2 points

@Shane_B.Actually no. It got sent back to MF. According to UPS it was undeliverable. MF says that usually means it was damaged. So I'm having that order cancelled (there are no more in stock, blah blah blah). I found a used one in excellent shape on Reverb.com. It's due to arrive on Thursday. In the meantime I'm looking at a Sterling (Music Man import line) StingRay 4H/4HH or the more higher priced Ernie Ball Music Man StungRay 4H/4HH. Shooting for one of those at the end of the year.2 points

The new plugin menu's do not use Windows common controls any more. We have plans of extending them further as we go along and an embedded search filter was also discussed. I don't have a timeline for when this will happen since there are other higher priority features in the pipeline before that.2 points

Hello! After one and a half years of waiting, my singer has put his vocal on this song. What is your opinion on the overall work? Also, there is a second version of this master (the sound color is different), see comments... Which do you prefer?1 point

Search the TTS-1 help file for "cutoff". You can use CC#74 to reduce the cut-off frequency of some instruments to change the "brightness" of the sound.1 point

Thanks, Paul. After all this I went for Intimate Studio Strings which comes to $134, with Requiem thrown in. I was on the fence last week when it was on Sale for $98 and now I'm glad I didn't pull the trigger!1 point

Bjorn , I agree with Tom , this one had me glued. The vocal bits keep pulling you back and really make you reflect . The seasons and years are Flying by now. It was Very well played and recorded . It left me feeling a little somber so I guess everything worked very well . Great job .. mark1 point

I'm glad you brought my attention to this lovely song. To me, your arrangements are the star of your latest songs. They are ultra sophisticated and well produced. You are playing to your strengths and it shows. Keep it up!1 point

Yes I did... It's not bad for a mobile sampler... They made it easy to use definitely a nice upgrade for the Bandlab app.1 point

In this day and age, Normalizing should absolutely be non-destructive. It would make sense to tie this into that Per-Clip "Static Gain" parameter I've been lobbying for. 😁 There are many cases (when mixing), where I'll use static gain changes (per clip) to even out a vocal performance. Yes, Clip Envelopes work... but it's slow (compared to a Static Gain/Normalize parameter).1 point

This could be a nice core feature to improve workflow and ease the sharing or drum kits and patch's. I'm all for it.1 point
-
I've felt this way for years; left out - as a producer that has a heavy Rap/Hip-Hop/sampling influence, not having the basics to get a task done or get a decent workflow going without jumping across to another DAW or using ReWire could mess-up your creativity and your confidence in your DAW (SONAR/Cakewalk). I hope things change with BandLab. +1 @CosmicDolphin1 point
-
Which probably explains why Cakewalk is not as popular as it once was ! Times have changed. If you are going for broad appeal Hip Hop is now the dominant genre in US music. If you are saying it wouldn't benefit the majority it's because that majority have either left or never considered Sonar and now use other DAWs that have better workflows for modern music production ( like Studio One ) . It's as though Cakewalk has become the default DAw for guitar playing Dad's. I'm pretty sure that's not how Bandlab want it to be perceived with their young App savvy user base .Well I hope Meng & Co are ready to move in a more progressive direction, kids making beats on their phones today are the DAW users of tomorrow1 point

I do not agree. Modern DAWs (Ableton, Bitwig, Reason, Studio One)which are made for electronic music contain these tools to give simple tools to write beats, slice loops. Of course third party should concentrate more on their products and be kings of synthesizers, sample libraries, etc. But things like basic synth, drum sampler are default things for a modern musician.1 point
