  9. Nanohost is a plugin wrapper that will allow you to turn any VST instrument (32-bit & 64-bit) plugin into an executable standalone program to use your synth or sampler outside of the DAW. It’s by Tone2 that use to be a 3rd party supplier of its BiFilter2 plugin that came bundled with SONAR PLT. The Nanohost is totally free and shareable. https://www.tone2.com/nanohost.html

  12. Out of just feeling sorry, bought the bx_console N. It seems a fine sounding plugin, I think. 😐 They should easily be able to afford a new office with all the money I've shoveled in their direction even before, though. πŸ’Έ Well, jokes aside - I hope they get the operation in full swing soon enough.

  13. You need to use the voucher code BX-N-2999 to bring the price down to $29.99. bx_console N was on my wishlist. It is no longer.

  14. I last used the cleanup utility circa 2006. It hosed a project and I haven't used it since. If I want to clean up a project nowadays, I'll do a Save As to make a copy and then delete the original folder. But that's going to be quite tedious if you want to clean every project you have. Now, if there was just some convenient way to identify and delete all my never-completed-and-never-will projects. That would give me a lot of disk space back!

  15. Nobody needs my analogies this morning, but What we have in this Forum is the Shire . . . thanks to the good Hobbits and the most often excellent moderators, wizards like Gandalf and elvish kings like Elrond. Without these fair moderators, and the integrity of the hobbits and dwarves and such, we would likely see the Shire overrun by trolls and orcs. Occasionally, in some other distant forum land, we hear of a moderator turned into a Saruman. Scary but not insurmountable. I could go on, but you get the gist. Take the metaphor as far as you want. To save you all time, it ends up with Zuckerberg being Sauron.

  16. The developer has been changed his business model several times regarding this app/plugin. The work / revenue ratio probably never lived up to expectations. I bought a 'permanent' license early on, then project went open source, then semi-subscription for builds... The developer has always honored my access to builds so I don't complain much anymore. I don't use Element much but it does have it's uses. $2 for a download I guess can be irksome but it's a low bar.

  18. Thanks to All of You for all the great comments. It's Definitely staying an instrumental. To @PhonoBrainer I will admit that if I'm doing my own midi drums , I don't spend time on toms. That may be why I'm rarely happy with my drum tracks. Thanks .. mark

  21. I'll say this again because I have all of the old Cakewalk Sonar plugins. I love some of the old instruments too! They are cool for nostalgia's sake, and many of them even still sound great! But I have a hard time justifying the hard drive space to keep them around. Time has marched on, and there are much better VST instruments available, even for free now! If you want more, just go out and download the free plugins that are available, or buy professional plugins if you can afford them. Cakewalk as a core DAW is the best free DAW available anywhere. A lot of the previous purchase price for Sonar was tied up in premium instrument and effects add-ons. So just roll your own bundle now, and you are all set!

  26. Hi 1- cakewalk needs a good sampler I've seen many times users talk about this feature but nothing has changed yet --------------------------- 2- flexible audio clip gain You know what I mean... Increase and decrease audio clip gain(like Cubase..... Very easily) In cakewalk its really wasting time to do this hard mission : clip automation>gain>hold Ctrl key and Change (However, the result of this difficult process is not as smart as Cubase) -------------------------------- 3- locate cursor when clicked in empty space : this can be done when smart tool is active.. but in select tool or split tool... Nothing is happened to cursor after clicking in empty space ------------------------------- 4- repeat event's color after duplicate track : its not good when duplicate one or some tracks and after that see many tracks with same event's color Even if I just duplicate the track( without events) The new events that I record (midi or audio) has same color ---------------------------------- 5- I have to make this request at least once in a while : let we change our fade in and fade outs curve manually (slow-fast-linear) like in studio one In cakewalk we should right click on edges of fades and choose one curve ------------------------------------ 6- search in plugins : Its good feature that I recently see in feedback and loops For those who say Media Browser does this : most of the users open audio plugins in effect bin (with right click) and a search bar is good idea to find an effect quickly Media browser is just a Cumbersome space that many times I close it with B --------------------------------------------- 7- sidechain with one or two click Sidechain in cakwalk is so hard that I feel like I'm sitting in front of a modular system and having to go through a lot of patch cables to get results.

  28. Been playing with this for the past two days. When I started the download and saw its size, my first thought was "100 GB for a percussion lib? wtf?". Turns out there's a lot more in there than initially meets the eye. The huge size isn't because this is the ultimate percussion library - there are no cowbells - but rather the depth of content.

  32. It's really about dynamic range (the ratio of the quiet parts to the loud parts) and average RMS to peak ratios (crest factor). These things are objectively measurable and therefore controllable. How impactful a snare hit is isn't about how high its level is, but how it compares to the audio surrounding it. The short video below illustrates the concept, using a snare drum as an example.

  41. After all that I've just taken the plunge with Embertone's Joshua Bell Essential. It has a fantastic tone which can easily support the folk/world requirements. The Essential version seems sufficient for most of what I need, although I've only just acquired it and I'm still low down the learing curve (but it seems quite usable). There is an upgrade path to the full version if required.

  48. Although my opinion on plugins may appear harsh, I am open to updating the integrated Cakewalk workflow for native internal samplers and such. From everything I can see and hear, that is most likely an area where Cakewalk has fallen behind the market leaders in DAW tech...
