  6. Over the last couple of decades I've become concerned with the danger of extinction to the honeybee. Their population has twice been decimated, and their importance to agriculture cannot be underestimated. So along with some of my dearest friends (new and old) I wrote a song and made a video about the plight of the bee. Those of you with sharp eyes may spot our own Freddy J (Webb) during the grand finale, but the rest of the choir includes Pat and Jane Norman, Roger Fife, and Karyl Wilson. Roger played bass, and I did the rest. Each choir member contributed their own video clip, so my thanks to them! I hope you all enjoy! As always, I look forward to your comments and thank you for your time. Here's the video link:

  7. ValhallaDelay updated with two new modes! We’ve recently posted the 2.1.0 update for ValhallaDelay. This update to v2.1.0 includes two cool new modes, Quartz and PhaserDDL. Here's an overview of the changes: We added PhaserDDL, bringing lush 4/6/12-stage phasers into the delay mix. This is one of my favorite algorithms ever, as it draws on a lot of influences that got me into electronic music and DSP in the first place. We also added Quartz, a new crystal clear digital delay which is great for emulating “high fidelity” digital delays, as well as stomp box flangers and crisp looping delays. We fixed an issue around project recall with VST3 in Studio One and FL Studio. In certain situations, the delay times would reset to 300 msec when opening a saved project. No longer! If you are a ValhallaDelay customer, these updates can be found in your user account. If you aren't - try the demo! https://valhalladsp.com/shop/delay/valhalladelay/

  9. I demo-ed it, thinking I'd probably buy it at this price. I can't seem to find a way to like it though. Some people highlight the importance of playing with the input gain to make it sound right (through your DAW, no input gain control on the plugin) while turning up the channel volume(s), but that didn't help much either. We're spoiled with some great amp sims these days and this one, to my ears, is not one of them. Cheap though so it might be good value, except that I already own a bunch of so-so amp sims that I hardly ever use. I know, we all do 😉

  17. Nicely done!! I know my front lawn garden attracts all sorts of pollinators, including many different types of bees. Not sure if any of them are honey bees, though. Different types of bees (and wasps, too) seem to prefer different flowers. Your video has inspired me to do some research to try to find which flowers are favored by honey bees!!! UPDATE: That was easy! It seems that they like Echinacea, Black-Eyed Susans, Sunflowers (all of which I do have).

  19. Hi Lynn and all your mates who made this happen, thoroughly enjoyed this bit'o'work and the video is impressive ... so much so it could be a professional mainstream job. I think as Jack C has noted there are a few, lets say, timing issues here and there, but this issue of bees is an extremely serious one ! Your message should be well read / listened to, if people take the time to read up about this issue and others like it and what it means to our ecosystem then you sir, have completed your best work ever. Hope that's not too heavy .. but ATB Steve

  20. Lynn (and friends) . . . very cool song and collaboration project ! You've tackled something super important that gets lost from the mainstream news, with all that other stuff going on. The bees and their tie to agriculture are a crucial part of the fragile ecosystem that sustains us all with those healthier foods. There is some very interesting bee footage in your video, so well done . . . all of it. Hope this creates a real buzz, it deserves it :)

  25. suggesting here for an option for clip background colors to be altered by bus. As of now setting a color for a bus will affect the foreground color only, and all tracks will also use the bus's foreground color as the waveform. I personally like to have black waveforms with clip color backgrounds (easier for my eyes anyway). This seems like a simple thing to build in. Hoping the bakers see this

  27. "Blyss Mastering Channel is a 3-stage processor designed specifically to make busses — both mix and instrument — sound “prettier”. It also happens to sound incredible on individual tracks too. While it has multiple cascading Saturations, a 6-band EQ and a mastering grade Compressor, all sections have been greatly simplified to reflect Kush’s old-school approach to processing: less is more, choices are limited but comprehensive, and all sections are designed to work together, making it nearly impossible to produce a bad sound." $99.00 https://thehouseofkush.com/products/blyss

  33. Also consider using the standalone executable of Ozone. I haven't done it in a while, but IIRC it was quicker than creating a new project. It can also serve as a VST host, so you can add in other non-iZotope plugins if needed.

  38. @Matthew Sorrels really appreciate your feedback. I didn't pick up any of the sale items but I have Ibrido Favola and just started wondering whether it will have same problems but didn't have time to check. I did upgrade Kontakt to 6.6.0 just recently but I'm still using the VST2 version for any major project. Was just not enough time to validate the VST3 version yet, in my opinion.

  39. This turned out great Lynn. You did a very professional job in putting this all together. This is indeed a very important topic. Not only from an ecological standpoint but from an economic stand point. Much of Florida's agriculture depends on these little critter's. I love oranges and I love honey. The honey comes directly from bees and the oranges come from the activities of bees in pollinating orange tree flowers. Excellent work Lynn, and thanks for inviting me to participate.

  44. Trackspacer is pretty useful tool and cool. I wish there were more tools designed with keeping in mind processing in context more than 1 track (although iZotope is trying to break the bank ;). And every single compressor should have external sidechain

  46. If you select more than one source, it treated as a batch bounce - so it converts the two mono tracks into two stereo tracks. There's two ways of doing this: 1. Solo the tracks, and bounce the entire mix: OR 2. Select the tracks, but then manually combine them afterwards:
