  1. We give away a ton of other plugins too. But looking at the data this is still one of our most popular purchased plugins (surprising to me, too, but true) so we decided to give it away this month for those that don't have it and might be hesitant because it really isn't as "slick" as other plugins but does indeed do its job well. Maybe the next one will float your boat.

  8. Nope -- I'm one of the developers of Gig Performer and we refuse to participate in the race to zero that goes on some parts of the plugin world.

  10. Thank you for that. It’s very generous of you, especially considering how snarky I was in return. After the beating I’ve been getting, my @$$ hurts, lol. I admit my tone earned some of that. And yes, it was some attempts at humor. No real offense to anyone intended. My jokes…ehh..maybe I’ll stick to music…. I don’t want to be petty or vindictive. I actually am curious for myself. I recently got bfd during the promo (awesome deal, and why I come here. CC is the king), and I’m wondering if an air cooled laptop could stream that,in a live setting. I wonder if the air cooled laptop would over heat and throttle the cpu during the course of a gig. to the point of being unusable. Im curious and I’m sure others would be too. Not just here. I’ll post it on YouTube. And i also want to answer some questions that are very specific to in the box producers . I think many would be interested in knowing this. Plus I’ve been talking up these 8gb go machines so damn much, that I may have convinced myself I really don’t need to wait till November to get the new ones, lol.

  11. I had not used these in a while so I refrained from comment on how good they were. But I used one of them (can't remember which one) over this past weekend and they do sound great!! But I did notice a cpu hit. With just one instance on the Master Buss.

  17. @Doug Rintoul It is always good to have some plans on stuff you need and stick with it... but sometimes we need to treat ourselves... whatever keeps you motivated 🙂 Saving with a plan is a great way of being organised and knowing your exact needs. How many reverbs do you need, channel strips? It 's up to us to decide and stay focused, otherwise the valuable production time goes to waste... searching, testing, comparing... you know 🙂

  18. The way I figure it, the money I save from buying something on sale can be rolled over to new purchases. I now have thousands of dollars banked up from Wave, and PA purchases alone, not to mention 8Dio and Rigid Audio.

  24. I received the same email this morning. The way it is worded, it sounds like some orders will not be fulfilled from the first shipment, but will be in a second shipment which is expected to arrive in the UK tomorrow. The second shipment may be delayed another week in customs, like the first shipment was.

  36. It's probably going wrong because there's no events on track 2 within the selection (i.e. the selection is in a blank space between two clips). A lot of the older commands rely on event selection before considering other things like envelopes. To be honest, you're better off turning on Ripple Edit All (or Ripple Edit Selection) and pressing the Del key.

  38. That is simply not true. You can't generalize from your wish list to everybody else's in the world. For example, I am currently ready to buy a Stream Deck XL for the current price ($229), but I am going to wait until Prime Day. Why? Because I got the XL for $199 on a Prime Day. It may not happen this time, but it's worth it to me to wait until Monday. (By the way, the prices for the $249 list XL went insane during the Pandemic--over $300) To make Prime Day and Black Friday work for you, you simply have to decide what you want to buy and how much you are willing to pay for it. Then check on Prime Day and Black Friday. Of course there may not be a sale on that particular thing, but I have bought ALL my SSDs on Prime Day and BF. It can be a good time for external hard drives too. If you are in the market for some music or computer hardware, like a particular SSD or hard drive or MIDI controller or instrument, then be ready. Know the list price. And this isn't about just checking today. It helps to keep on Amazon prices all the time, because they fluctuate. You need to read up on it. A lot of 7200 drives from Amazon don't come with warranties from the original manufacturer. So in that case it might be a better deal to get it from another place like NewEgg or B&H. I'll post here some of the good deals I find.

  41. 1 - Who says? 2 - That Sweetwater article explicitly says "Myth: VST 3 plugins are more efficient" (they can be, as there are some features that VST 3 supports more easily than VST 2, but there's no guarantee). 3 - VST 2.4 is only being phased out if a host/plugin wants it to be (there are some restrictions on new developers, but not those with existing VST 2.x licence agreements). The (non-DSP) coding is *very* different, so this is not necessarily trivial at all. And since the existng plug-ins work, why "waste" time re-writing them?
