  1. if you like the silly side (ie LOUIE LOUIE) side of my videos, you will enjoy the first minute and the last few seconds of this one I try to keep it amusing all the way through, but I had particular fun in those two places. These parts are really stupid, even for me. As most of you know, METEOR is software that combines risers and impacts. The gimmick is that it lets you choose exactly how long the riser is in seconds or beats. It's very powerful and when I started researching other videos I discovered that there were excellent videos out there that showed all the features. I didn't see the point in doing the same thing. So I messed around with it for a week or two to see if I could find something personal to add. And that's what this video is about. It's not really a training in the features of METEOR, so much as my discoveries about its workflow.

  2. • Similar to Baby Comeback Baby Audio offers the Keylay delay plug-in for download exclusively for KEYS readers. Behind this is a creative weapon based on the Comeback Kid plug-in. Tempo-synchronous, dotted or triplet delays can be created as a delay. Ping-pongs can also be implemented without any problems. A free mode gives space for individual delay times that are not tied to the song tempo. A ducker extends the possibilities, for example, to inconspicuously enrich kick drums with delays. It also includes four exclusive presets that were screwed by KEYS author Carl-Philipp Schmeller. The original and effect signals can be controlled separately. Keylay supports the VST, AU and AAX formats https://www.keys.de/downloads/plug-ins/baby-audio-keylay

  6. Nice. This means I'm 1 year closer to upgrading to Collectors Edition v14! And by then it'll probably be called "Native iZotope Collectors Total Bundle Music Production, Restoration and Instrument Suite with free license of BreakTweaker Expanded and Kontakt v7 Premium Subscription Edition 2022."

  7. Bumping this because even if you weren't planning to buy his plugins, you might want to check out his (Gregory Scott) YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/TheHouseofKushTV/videos He's very nice to listen to because he feels strongly what he talks about, and has the talent of using words to clearly express it, and transfer that feeling to you. He's not pacing through stuff trying to look efficient, but instead goes slow and gives you time to set into optimal mood and grok things. Recommended with a glass of wine and some knobs at a hand's reach. Some picks: Dial your KICK and BASS Faster & EASIER Than Ever! Compressor Designer GEEKS OUT on DRUM COMPRESSION! STOP sweeping the EQ, train your EARS to KNOW frequencies! DON'T Listen to What You're Mixing!

  10. Not the lowest price ever, but not bad if you need a good virtual ROMpler! 2500+ sounds covering 29 instrument categories, not GM, but 4-part multitimbral. Light footprint, with small sample library about 1.5GB. https://www.producerspot.com/product/xpand-2 https://www.pluginboutique.com/product/1-Instruments/64-Virtual-Instrument/1560-Xpand-2 *Free iLok account and License Manager required.

  13. Fruitymasterz released Hercules V2, a freeware virtual analog synthesizer in VST2 and VST3 plugin formats for digital audio workstations on Windows. Hercules V2 is an improved version of Fruitymasterz’s previously released Hercules virtual synth. The new instrument features an improved sound engine, an FX section, improved modulation capabilities, and several bug fixes. Feature-wise, Hercules V2 https://gumroad.com/fruitymasterz#dErPz

  15. Interesting but I'm not wow'd enough by the demo video to drop my panties and shell out $107.40 That it has 11 operators is interesting - hopefully there'll be patches then really shine because they use all 11, but I really don't think there will be many. FWIR Poison (imageline) has 8 operators but that wasn't enough of a feature to get me to switch from FM8 by NI. A great many classic FM patches don't even use the 6 operators spec'ed out for the DX7 family of synths. If adding more operators was the magic formula to sonic nirvana everyone & their mom would have added it to their cupcakes ages ago...

  17. I have only seen it go as low as $9.99 recently. It has been a few years since it was running at $1. That's when I discovered it, LOL! But if I hadn't already paid $1 for it, I would have gladly spent $10 or $15 for it. There is nothing else on the planet that offers such a variety of instruments in such an inexpensive package. It has a light footprint on disk storage and CPU usage, so you can run many instances without killing your PC. You would probably end up replacing many of the Xpand!2 sounds later in mixing, if you had some high quality substitutes. But many of those alternatives are CPU and RAM eaters, and often you might need to freeze some of those HQ instrument tracks to keep things from getting out of hand.

  18. Of course, it was free or $1.00 for a year or two straight, so I don't know if I would call $14.99 exactluy a sale. But it is definitely worth a lot more than $14.99. It's pretty great.

  20. @Terry Kelley ... @Bristol_Jonesey is correct: 1. Press CTRL + A to select all tracks 2. While holding down CTRL, change one of the track filters to "Clips" - this will change them all, because you've quick-grouped them by selecting them and you're holding down CTRL.

  21. I'm pretty sure the first bank of TTS-1 sounds are exactly the same as the old 24 note poly Roland GM synths at the time, but it sounds like you're talking about Microsoft's internal GM synth? As far as I know, there's not been any changes to the Microsoft GM sounds either. To use them though, you'll need to ensure you're running in WASAPI mode for Audio, and set your MIDI output to "Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth". If you were using a 3rd party sound card at the time, it could be that you had the Yamaha XG sound set, which does sound different. You can download an XG VSTi synth here: https://veg.by/en/projects/syxg50/ It's 32 bit, but it should work with BitBridge. I personally use JBridge, but can't recall any issues with BitBridge when I last used it.

  24. This update to the Channel Strip and the bus Compressor is great. Thanks Zo for mentioning this. Since I've never received an email from SSL I don't know what they are offering. I purchased the $49.00 bus and channel strip bundle back earlier in the year and I've receive no email from SSL yet about a free update. I looked on their website, and my purchases is not on their site, I had to go back to my SweetWater email in case I needed the serial Code This update is nice and I like the 360 software too. 👍

  25. Changing tempo will not normally stretch audio clips, unless "Stretch to Tempo" is checked within the clip properties: AFAIK this is only ever checked automatically for groove clips, although you can set it manually.

  30. It would be good if fader groups followed automation lines. For example, I create makeshift 'VCA Faders' and group a bunch of instruments to that fader. An example would be a Snare VCA and this gets my snare submix, snare verbs and snare parallel compression. I then tweak overall snare volumes with this fader. However, if I automate this fader, only that fader follows automation, the grouped faders don't. I then have to automate every channel individually, making the groups somewhat pointless. Video attached showing normal fader movement vs automation. Group automation.mp4

  36. Most likely going to get this at a sane price (-50% maybe) if the sound is good and the UI half-decent. I hope it's a nicer experience than that other dawrky thing they did. 90-day free trial apparently, which should actually be plenty.

  42. If you were trying to record audio directly from the synth, it cannot be done with an instrument track. An instrument track can only record MIDI data. Soft synth audio recording requires, as you have discovered, separate audio and MIDI tracks.
