  2. IK Mixbox has the price tag of $99.99, but when I added it to my cart to see if there was a discount. There is a Cross Grade price of $49.99 in the cart once I selected check out. No Jam Points can be added to this offer. I don't know what I have that is giving me the Cross Grade price, but it's working for me.

  4. I have BBC Pro and to be honest it can be a bit demanding in terms of memory usage (and disc and CPU). But Core and Discovery don't really suffer the zillion mic/zillion articulation eating all your computer resources problem as much though. The Spitfire player has a kind of crazy loading resources issue. It takes forever. And (this actually bothers me more) it takes for ever to unload too(I guess they free all the memory they allocated in little tiny bits instead of giant blocks). But most of the issues with using it, besides loading and exiting, have been fixed (more or less). And with articulation maps it's really pretty nice. It has a great and usable sound, but it's not exactly very inspiring. I have a lot more fun with the two Drama Toolkits (British Drama Toolkit and Contemporary Drama Toolkit) and Bernard Herrmann Composer Toolkit. I also have found I'm a lot more fond of the Spitfire Solo Strings than using the solo instruments in BBC, which kind of surprised me. All of the Albion libraries are great, but having all six(some aren't available anymore) of them I rarely can remember which is which. You should definitely watch/listen to the walk through on them, they are all pretty different. Also don't buy more than one of any of these at a time. I made that mistake, with a complete the collection deal, and I'm pretty sure it meant I've missed a lot of the rich detail in some of the Albions. Which is maybe why I still see Albion ONE as the most useful. Because I had it for a long time by itself. Personally I really dislike eDNA Earth. I has always been one of my regrets (it was the first Spitfire thing I bought a long time ago now). And I'm not getting along so well with the swarm stuff either. Something about the grid UI and I just don't mesh well. But I'm guessing it's just me. If you do get eDNA Earth I do recommend the Unfinished add-on. It did make it better for me. They will have better sales towards the end of the year. Including a new Ton (which will be a good deal assuming you like/need what they bundle in it). And they are likely to do the spend above so much and get this library we won't sell at all otherwise deal. Might be best to hold off for those offers. And again don't buy more than one if you can avoid it (bundle deals are kind of a curse and a blessing).

  6. I'm pretty active on Bandlab.com and involved in several collaborations and always try to get users to come here and join the forum. The biggest troubles I have convincing them is Bandlab's Mix Editor which is actually a 16 track cloud based DAW is all they feel they need and is getting better & better almost by the day with more functions and adding new FX plugins to an already sizable bundle of very cool modern & vintage FX. Can anyone guess what the BL-1176 can do? Well it can't do all what a NI 1176 or a Waves 1176 plugins can do, but it's close enough for a veteran to recognize as an 1176 signature, and the newbies may not actually know or care what an 1176 is, they know enough about it know it makes their tracks jump out and sound GOOD. And it's now so shockingly GOOD & POWERFUL some don't feel the need to learn a new DAW and others can't install Cakewalk on their Android, iOS devices, or Mac computers, so they don't even bother. That, and many, many young users don't like to hang out in forums with us geezers that remind them of their "Parents" 😆😉 Yeah, try to put yourself in their shoes before offering them advice. To a place where, to them, "Old School" is Taylor Swift or BeyoncĂ©... đŸ€Ż

  7. How can you feel the liberation of culling your plugin collection, if you don't obsessively overpurchase plugins to begin with? Anything by Softube, Fabfilter, and that Gullfoss thing: Most of my Waves and Izotope:

  9. It really should read "Cakewalk Deals powered by CC LARRY." He is our guy. When he left us for a while, not to exaggerate, but it was terrible, horrifying and pretty much, all hope was lost until he returned. That said, I saved a lot of money.

  13. Like today. I'm really, really glad that I never paid for Waves Codex. Although I already had several other Waves instruments and wanted to add to the collection, and I was tempted. But today I added Waves Codex for free! Thanks to cclarry and Beat Mag! 😁

  14. Well EDM and hip hop are not really my thing, as I'm more of a classic rock guy.. But I recently upgraded to Ableton Live 11 Suite (and have had Live since v5), and I like to experiment with music and sound design. And I've got to say that this feature is a serious missing link in Cakewalk, which I have had for over 20 years.

  18. I thought these Forums were new and " fangled ". It's the closest I ever came to " social networking ". I might be a little older than you old farts though. Who needs young people - except maybe those other young people. Oh... almost forgot - get off my grass. This is definitely Coffee house fodder.

  27. Actually it does. My "complete your bundle" price went from $71.99 to $53.99... It works on the individual synths from the bundle too! Like $14 bucks for the Pad one. Tempting!

  30. Cthulhu is only $39. Serum, on the other hand, is pricey. I never bought it. But I did notice that the dev posted a recent update for Cthulhu (v1.24b2, dated May 2021). Downloading from my account now. Release notes: Version 1.24b1 (May 2021) - fix: sync improvements - fix: graphics performance improvements - fix: MIDI program changes now work with Cthulhu UI hidden - fix: some CPU reduction

  37. I've not tried it myself, but have been in the audience for a live demo of realtime drum replacement. In that demo, a drummer was sitting on a folding chair slapping different parts of his body and tapping his feet. No triggers were used, just microphones. The software being touted was Drumagog, but I'd assume any drum replacement software would work as long as the latency was low enough, including Cakewalk's own drum replacer. To get the latency down it might require a dedicated laptop; if there are enough separate mics on the kit, you could take a direct out from the board to drive the software, thus avoiding the need for a special setup. The drummer in my band has had triggers installed on his acoustic kit. They drive a dedicated sample module. Works great. It wasn't a cheap mod, though.

  40. For some context MixBox at $50 is based on the sale which is only on the Crossgrade plus a previous customer loyalty coupon (so basically a deal for existing/loyal customers stacked) based on this: "Customers that have purchased at least 5 T-RackS processors, T-RackS 5, T-RackS 5 SE, T-RackS 5 Deluxe, T-RackS 5 MAX, Total Studio 2 MAX, iLoud Micro Monitor, iLoud MTM, & Lurssen Mastering Console will get an additional $/€ 50 automatic coupon applied at checkout" So it seems we kind of get it both ways with "you don't give good enough deals to existing loyal customers" but also "see? look how low the price went, you should wait" which to me seems at best lacking context and at worst possibly a bit misleading. We could have been justified in removing that coupon for this promotion. And the $25/$50 T-RackS deal is not a typical deal, it coincides with our 25th Anniversary celebration. So those examples taken out of context can give you an impression that might not be 100% accurate or will take much longer to reach price-wise than is being implied.

  41. It is hard to make a go of it without an apple version of music software. Such as one time owner Roland having to include a different apple daw with their hardware along with their free sonar. Being pc only cuts your customer base by half or more. Most pro studios are apple and there is a natural tendency to look down on pc software and “other” it and think of it as for home use despite Cakewalk being a fully professional daw. It can do everything other daws do, just not on the Mac. Bandlab seems committed so be happy you have access to such great software so cheap and don’t worry what others think.
