This is one of the things I love about this community. I can make a stupid off-topic remark and instead of someone ripping on me for going off-topic, somebody starts a new thread where we all go off-topic! Still my favorite music making related forum.3 points

Many moons ago I visited my then favourite retailer of all things musical. Nice guys who knew their stuff. I was still pretty new to the whole DAW thing and what I wanted was a better set of sounds to replace the GM type stuff that I had been using from my keyboard workstation. I had no real idea what was available, so went in search of guidance. Back then, when you bought software it was still physical media. Trying to describe the kind of thing I was looking for I said......basically a band in a box. Suddenly, It was like the room temperature had dropped about 10 degrees and they looked at me in ways that are hard to describe, but basically imagine the face of parents if you told them that actually their first born and every little thing it does is actually the most boring subject on the planet. It's not a miracle, it's just a baby and not a very nice looking one at that..... Anyhoo, the atmosphere became less frosty as I further explained what I wanted and eventually an East West library was bought and everyone was happy. Only later did I discover that there was actually a thing called Band in a Box and came to understand why you should never mention it.3 points

I took a little different approach on this one and it's still in it's beginning stages. A few loops from Sonar 7 , Roland synth from 8.5 for 808 stuff , bounced and finished in CbB. TTS , Tyrell synth and dirty guitars (unusual for me) I've been toying with vocals , but not there yet , looking for a deep Bowie feel. It's a little short but this is the main body. Looking for crits and suggestions before I take it further. Thank You .. mark https://soundcloud.com/user-810058643/mars2 points

Indeed, we are pleased to inform you that today we release a series of updates for all our products: 1178, Mu, Smasher and Echorec. Many of you have asked us for improvements, we have heard you. Here are the 3 most important features we have added: Parameter Locking - every parameter can be locked so that it doesn’t change when scrolling presets. Very useful for compressor input/output gains or Mix knobs for example. Offline oversampling option - thanks to a separate oversampling setting for offline rendering, it’s now possible to have the best possible rendering quality, while keeping the CPU usage during real-time process under control. Disable Static Noise option - in some situations the very quiet background hiss that was introduced by our Mu and Echorec plug-ins could be unwanted. You now have the possibility to disable it. https://pulsar.audio/products/2 points

Yep. Grind my own. Local coffee that I grew up with. Community Coffee Been around for years. If you drink coffee, and have never smelled fresh coffee being roasted.... man, your missing out big time!! Here in Baton Rouge we have a bridge over the Mississippi River. Under that bridge is the Community Coffee roasting building. When they are roasting and you pass over the bridge... the fragrance is unbelievable!!!2 points

for voucher users: like in previous months, the original voucher mail says good through the end of the month but a more recent mail suggests they'll expire May 29, two days short. It is likely for a sale but this has caught me and others by surprise in the past.2 points

Tri-tto that! It's usually in the evenings when I'm working on music, so more beer than coffee for me... 🍺 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now, back to the thread topic. Sorry! 😁 Although, we have found a coffee we like enough to order regularly... https://www.peets.com/products/major-dickasons-blend2 points

At first, I misread this as "Ground Coffee" and I was pretty excited to click on that. I thought, okay, well sometimes people post about video games, now their adding coffee to the mix. And I clicked. I suppose that tells you a little about me.2 points

Played with Chordjam tonight and really liked it. Don't have Scaler, so no comparison. But I did like the results I was getting with it. And it was fun playing around. The Timing and Velocity settings really help give it a unique approach. The Arp settings were somewhat useful. But I couldn't work with the Step Sequencer. Not yet at least.2 points

I think of Spitfire and VSL as boutique libraries. For one who does not need to go crazy with orchestrations these are probably great value instead of wasting money on those cheap Sonivox libraries.2 points

This is actually pretty old news, but a good reminder. The problem was that some Air Music (and SONiVOX) plugins were installing an old version of iLok even if you had a newer version installed. The old version of iLok would install a driver that would render you computer unbootable until you deleted tpkd.sys from c:\Windows\system32\drivers. You could not even use system restore to back out of the install.2 points

So Air Music Tech is really for the customer that wants to only play an Air Guitar Sorry I couldn't resist2 points

I am very aware of the online manual. I prefer a written manual. In leu of that a PDF version will do the trick. Why you may ask ? I like to browse and read it at times I'm not using a computer. Also I believe that Cakewalk didn't have to do this but they did. I appreciate it. And I wanted to highlight it for others who would like to have an up to date PDF of the manual. Also Scook I have been working with this program and the forums gong back to when it first appeared and before. You may forget just how long I have been around.2 points

Xfer has a no sale policy and they have been pretty hardcore about it. The good news it means you can buy their stuff anytime. The bad news is it's never cheaper.1 point

I haven't had a scan problem in a very long time, but they are almost inevitable if you are a plugin collector. That's why I no longer see those problems: I am no longer a collector.1 point
