  5. By far our most popular piano! Room Piano v3 is an improved version of Room Piano v2, minus the vinyl crackles function. This VST/AU plugin instrument is based on an upright acoustic piano 24-bit stereo recording. https://www.samplescience.info/2020/12/room-piano.html Resonance is an acoustic piano sampled staccato style for arpeggios and fast melodies in the style of Nils Frahm. It combines the sound of a sampled acoustic piano with physically modelled body resonance. Hence the name "Resonance". https://www.samplescience.info/2020/12/resonance.html Cassette Roads is the beautiful sound of an electric piano recorded on a cassette. Perfect for lo-fi hip hop and beat making. This plugin has been a hit from day one. Go get it if you don't already have it! https://www.samplescience.info/2020/12/cassette-roads.html 606 Koncept I've been extremely proud of this plugin as it brings something new (or at least unusual) to the drum plugin world. The multi-pitch sum mixer is unique to this plugin and really suits the sound of the 606. Use it to beef up the sound of the 606 and use the low/high knobs to squash the sound even more! Hours of fun! https://www.samplescience.info/2020/12/606-koncept.html Synthetic Vortices is a collection of 90 abstract ambient loops created using the Ensoniq Fizmo. It's perfect to created weird atmospheres for a YouTube video or a documentary. The sounds are also available as a sample pack so you can drop them directly into a video editor! https://www.samplescience.info/2020/12/synthetic-vortices-plugin-edition.html The Gong A Gong sampled in 4 different velocities and provided with 4 different articulations. Perfect for New Age and meditation music production! https://www.samplescience.info/2021/02/the-gong.html

  7. I have both. Scalar 2 is definitely the more powerful/complex/useful (to me) of the two. ChordJam is nice but not really in Scalar 2's class as far as features go. I do like ChordJam's basic setup, though I had to watch video to figure out how to use it (the PDF manual which I started with isn't really usable as a guide). I did get it confused and constantly sending MIDI data at least once while playing with it. Though who knows if the problem was routing in Cakewalk or it. If you could only buy one I'd say Scalar 2 is the better choice.

  9. I had the same thought, but I picked that one up on a sale recently too. My other favorite PSP plugin is the Twin-L Dynamic Processor. If a track needs some leveling or a bus needs to be "contained", that's pretty much the first limiter I reach for. I also use it when recording. It's versatile enough that 90% of the time, that's the one I use.

  10. How cool to have an up to date manual to include 2021.4. With all the additions Cakewalk a new manual was needed. As usual who writes them has done an outstanding job. One of the very best manuals for a DAW I have seen. Thank you. Edit to Add. A web based manual is very nice but it does not have the same aesthetics as a real book even if that book is a PDF

  15. MAutoAlign is currently 59% off at Plugin Boutique, 22$. But it is listed as regular price of 54$ there and it is listed as 72$ on Melda's site. So it's actually almost 70% off Melda's list price. I don't know how often this happens, but its quite a deal.

  16. Yes. Black Friday means Spitfire will be back to these prices. And maybe The Ton will be as good as 2 years ago (BDT, Edna Earth, Piano). Agree that Spitfire have a more sound design orientation in some of its instruments than NI. However Arkhis was in collab with OT (Orchestral Tools). And sounds very interesting.

  17. In fact, DON'T uninstall Sonar Platinum! That way you can keep the full set of plug-ins and content that came with Platinum. Just install Cakewalk, they co-exist happily side-by-side. Cakewalk is a much better program in multiple ways, because it benefits from additional years of development. You may have some initial confusion ("What's this arranger thing?"), but it will all fall into place as you work with the program.

  18. Re PDFs, a lot of people load PDFs into tablets, or even smart phones, while they work on a program at their desktop. In that context, being able to search easily is helpful, and they don't have to give up desktop screen real estate.

  19. I think it’s something like 1,000,000 of us now. We all switched when Sonar died. CbB is Sonar Platinum with all the bug fixes and updates. Installing it will not erase Splat so you can keep everything as it was and jump right into the new version. Myself I could never go back as there are way too many features I now depend on. And for me it is 100% more stable than ever. There is an offline activation system in place you can look for. Cakewalk will run with out the internet for about 6 months otherwise.

  21. Too bad they don't discount their $29 stuff. I guess Spitfire must think they are so cheap already? But even a 10% discount ($3 off) would be nice.

  22. I gotta give it to PSP, the 2445 and Springbox are excellent. I never thought that a spring reverb could be used for anything serious, until I used the Springbox. The 2445 is on par with anything else I have. Use it all the time.

  23. I slapped it on my mix of Def Lepperd's Rock of Ages, on the Drum buss, and made a few adjustments to taste and the drums just really went from "Very Nice" to "WOW". I was very impressed! It really is a very versatile compressor!

  26. Hello Dear Cakewalk developers. I'd like to talk about such an important thing as a sampler. It's very lacking, especially when you write arrangements. Third-party samplers are not an option, because there is no direct synchronisation with DAW. Please think about my request and add a sampler to Cakewalk if possible. In Ableton and Cubase, it's very cool done. I'd appreciate it if you could add what many people ask for! All the best

  27. AIR Music Technology Download Area Due to a major incompatibility issue with various AIR Music Technology software and a recent Windows 10 update, we have made the decision to remove all affected products from sale at Plugin Boutique while we await updated installers that will fix this problem. As a result of this, we DO NOT recommend Windows 10 users download and install any AIR Music Technology software, excluding the products listed with the downloads here. If you are running Windows 7 or 8 and would like to download the current installers, please contact us HERE and we'll be happy to help. As AIR Music Technology continue to work on updating their product range to be macOS Catalina and Big Sur compatible, these will be added to this download area when they become available. Please find the relevant installer for your purchase below. 37. @Clovis Ramsay thanks for the info. BTW, I'm using Melodyne 5 Editor, as I mentioned in my original post. I only really use Melodyne for vocals. I'm still struggling though on comping with Melodyne. I wish I could do it like in the video that @Glenn Stanton posted above. There it seems so straightforward and flexible, with no need to prematurely freeze things with a flatten.

  40. ASIO4All is not an ASIO driver. It is a wrapper for WDM drivers intended for use with programs that require ASIO. CbB does not require ASIO, it can use WASAPI and WDM drivers directly. When most users recommend using ASIO, they are not talking about ASIO4All. They are referring to a manufacturer supplied ASIO driver for the audio interface, As a rule, a manufacturer supplied ASIO driver performs better than Windows drivers (WASAPI and WDM). The exception being Realtek. Their ASIO driver is not very good. When using the internal sound chip on Win10, WASAPI is the best choice. When using an audio interface designed for DAW use, the first choice is the manufacturers ASIO driver. If the manufacture does not supply an ASIO driver or if they use ASIO4All, avoid the interface. Focusrite supplies ASIO drivers for their interfaces.

  41. Price is crazy, but I like that there are new amps being coded. No one complains that there are too many Marshall emulations. There are WAY too few bass amp sims. I did an exhaustive comparison between most of the ones available and, although there are some great sounding ones, the ONLY one that actually felt like playing a real amp was the Softube Eden emulation. The sound quality is way better than anything else I tried. There's just way more options for guitar. Edit: If you want some great bass tones, use Airwindows BassDrive in front of the amp sim. INSANE tones.

  44. The brand new version of MOHO is out now after the original developers- Lost Marble ( and also irish company Cartoon Saloon, who are big users of Moho going way back ) took back the software from Smith Micro: https://moho.lostmarble.com For those with previous v13 and 12 there is an upgrade offer of $99 until end of May ( up to $199 then ) For anyone here going MOHO, What is it? Its a 2D animation program INCLUDING AUDIO thats been around for ages but unfortunately was not loved for a long time by Smith Micro, the previous owners. Interestingly to release a stable v13.5 they apparently had to strip out a load of "new Features" added by Smith Micro because these new features were making Moho UNSTABLE / not coded right in effect. Its good to see it back now and with constant development going forward .. in this situation a sort of kindred spirit with Cakewalk Just upgraded from my v12. I will admit I have not used MOHO in a good while after Smith Micro took it over. Time to get back into it now though, at minimum I am happy to contribute toward its new and further development and tbh me being in Ireland, and love Kilkenny where Cartoon Saloon are .. its a no brainer, support your own I referenced working with AUDIO in MOHO:
