  2. Toontrack needs to release a "Generic MIDI 6 Pack" that lets you pick whatever MIDI you want, be it EZKeys, EZDrummer, or EZBass. They'd sell a boatload of those!

  4. The only thing updated is the installer shells. The VST dll's in these are byte-for-byte identical with the 2015 versions that I had. I didn't see any difference in the content either, but I didn't feel like digging that deep with WinMerge.

  9. I picked this up few weeks ago and used it in an inspirational video. I do it for fun otherwise I would starve. Works well for light percussion which is something I find I am using a lot lately. Small acoustic sets don't need a huge drum kit. I simply pulled various loops from Groovemate into Cakewalk.

  15. Nu Guzheng is a plugin instrument based on a multi-sampled set of guzheng samples. This traditional Chinese plucked zither has been recorded in stereo using a pair of Blue spark condenser microphones. Recorded in 32-bit and downsampled to 24-bit for the plugin version, the end result is clean-sounding and authentic. Available as a VST/AU plugin instrument for Windows 8.1/10 and macOS El Capitan to Mojave (not compatible with Catalina and up). Best of all, Nu Guzheng is completely free if you put 0 in the price field! https://www.samplescience.info/2021/05/nu-guzheng.html

  18. Hey all! I thought I'd take a moment to pop in here as someone who works with both BandLab and Cakewalk. First, I'm bummed to hear about @Matt M Luthanen's experience with the Mix Editor. There are tons of factors that can play into the performance of recording and playing back multitrack audio and MIDI over the web, so we'll definitely have to dig deeper to find out what's going on there. To Matt, and anyone else who uses the Mix Editor and runs into trouble, just giving us a heads up at support@bandlab.com will be the best bet for the moment. That said, I also saw a mention about having a BandLab specific section for the Cakewalk forum, or another resource in general. Would you guys like to see a dedicated forum space for BandLab? We currently have a Help Center, a YouTube channel, Discord, etc, but we're definitely on board with the idea of a forum as well. It would likely be tied directly to our Help Center, much like how you can now submit a crash report directly on help.cakewalk.com using the "Submit a request" feature. Just to round back, BandLab's Mix Editor and Cakewalk are so different from a build and tech standpoint that performance will absolutely be different with each. In both cases though, saving early and often will definitely be beneficial. If work in the Mix Editor was saved but you're having trouble finding it, or there are changes to what you're hearing upon playback, reach us at support@bandlab.com. We'll be there to help!

  19. Hello everybody! It has long been an urgent problem! In such DAW as Reaper, Cubase, Studio1, when the Vienna Ensemble Pro5/6 window is active, starting playback of the project in these DAWs with the Space key is normal. When Vienna is working with CbBL, playback does not start! And this is very uncomfortable and upset. Can this be fixed?

  20. I love Air instruments. Structure has some very nice sounds, particularly, orchestral, pop brass and electric guitar, and Strike is perfect for quick and dirty sketches and drafts. As for synths, Hybrid and Loom are my go-to ones.

  21. The entire range of Minimal System Group fx and synths, all of which are 32-bit only. https://www.pluginboutique.com/deals/show?sale_id=7631 I'm posting this because the idea of it baffles me. It seems uncharacteristically irresponsible for PB to sell people 32-bit plug-ins with no upgrade path.

  25. Sonuscore is really hitting it out of the park with the constantly improving The Orchestra, plus these new products for EastWest and Native Instruments. I would imagine that the Woodwinds for The Orchestra should be coming out soon. And don't forget Elysion and Mallet Flux and the Origins series.

  28. The updates are of no use to me, but good to know that they are still alive in some way I guess. I do sometimes use Xpand2! for it's pad layers when I just want something quick and Loom has made it onto a few finished* versions. * They're never really finished are they ? 😀

One reason I believe no one at first understood the OP's post.

  33. A sub forum would be a good idea in general for Bandlab users. A lot of people have posted here over the last few years asking questions and were frustrated there was no forum for them. But, keep in mind, the forum will only be useful if those folks participate and help each other out. That's how forums work. There's a lot of helpful people here on the Cakewalk forum, many of us go way back in time too. But most of us have no interest or experience with the Bandlab app. It would have to grow a new community.

  34. Mike B. - Sounds like a good idea. Adding a beginners forum to each might also help new patrons find answers to the basic start-up pains that we all have gone through ( great place to link to the tutorials section) The Cakewalk users in these forum groups are enormously helpful generally speaking and having the CTO of the company regularly chime in on what's real and what's perceived in the software is an exception to the rule.

  45. If you don't know what you need yet, then Cakewalk is probably enough for you now. Cakewalk is a very deep and powerful DAW, that can do most things well. I have been using it for over 20 years. And I also have Studio One Pro, that I picked up when Gibson first shut Cakewalk down. But you will know when the time comes to try something new, when you cannot do something easily that you need to do in Cakewalk. But only you can know what that is, and everybody has different workflow needs, so there's no one-size-fits-all answer to what is the best DAW. Best suggestion I could make is subscribe to PreSonus Sphere for a month or two, and give everything a go. Then decide if it's worth it to upgrade.

  46. When I seen this, I thought to myself Fleer is going to be all over this like a fat kid on a cup cake. I remember back on the old forums when Adaptiverb was released, all your oohing and aaring and rapturous enthusiasm for the plugin. I managed to resist for a while, but your love and enthusiastic commentary never waned, so I gave in and purchased it. Wrong move, I tinkered with it for a time, but being a simple guitarist, it was just a little to funky for me. It sat there in my plugin folder for a few years, , only having a tinker every now and then, but that's all. Then one day I saw a post on KVR's Buy and Sell, someone looking for it, contacted them, done deal, lesson learned. I'm just a simple man With simple needs and following Fleer Will ensure it bleeds

  47. They had a end of year Elements Bundle that included R2, Excalibur, Pheonix AND Iris 2, Trash 2.....for $49. I didn't even care for all the elements programs, but the 49 entry to access fee to score the 3 Exponential and the Iris 2 & Trash 2... i mean, wow
