  2. Thanks for the information that's useful. I'll get in touch with them and sort it out. The information quoted is not quite correct however, so I'm clarifying in case some other VST developer reads this. We're not calling process to actually process audio. The VST3 SDK allows the host to call process to transfer parameter state to the plugin. In this case we are calling process using the documented workflow to transfer parameter changes. I'm quoting the FAQ from the VST3 spec below: The idea is that the process call is not only used for processing. Its also used to send parameter changes. When we load a project one of the things we do is set the default VST3 program change number. The u-he plugins expose this as a parameter so we set that parameter and then flush that parameter via the process call to notify the plugin of the state change. The plugin is mistakenly assuming that this is an audio processing call. Its not necessary to activate the plugin since audio processing has not yet started. I have had many discussions with Steinberg about this since it has been the source of innumerable problems where developers don't expect this behavior. IMO this part of the API is very non intuitive and a poor design choice since many developers do not expect this. Its also really poorly documented. FWIW the code in question I'm using to flush parameters came directly from the VST SDK so its not like it was my decision to do it this way In any case it seems like u-he is considering handling this. I'll touch base personally as well.

  14. I still have this one I figured that if I kept it long enough it might become worth something, but failing that it still looks like a thing that someone clever would have and gives me the perceived aura of someone who knows what he's doing. Either that or the aura of someone who keeps too much old crap for too long. I prefer the first one.

  15. Does it come with an extra i9 processor? For the price it should, and for the CPU usage of most Softube plugins I own, it definitely should.

  22. Thanks John. Pretty big project to send but I will if needed. Bug appears in both melo 4&5. I've done this many times over the years starting back before Melodyne was involved, so I doubt it's something I'm doing. When I moved (copy/pasted) the track to an empty project and it worked fine.

  23. Does sound really matter on this one, just look at that beautiful thing! (ok if I'm nit picky, I'd argue that the artifical shadow the virtual knobs are casting is too strong - yeah it would look like that on a console, but we shouldn't have to deal with the darkened text in the box)

  32. I've been happy to call Bill a friend since he first stopped by the old Guitar Tracks forum many a year back. A brave ex-serviceman with a heart of gold and a wonderful generosity of spirit - a true gentleman in every sense of the word. Proud to have known you Bill - the world is a poorer place with your passing.

  33. Love Audiority too, also watched that video. But as someone that owned an OC-2 not one I ever wanted again. Too glitchy. I personally like the POG stuff from EHX becuase it tracks like you want and expect it to. Yeah, it is digital and doens't add any warmth or any of that....but the tracking is excellent and can do polyphonic too.

  37. Just loaded up 6 instances of Chromaphone 3 (VST3), all playing at the same time in Cakewalk 2021.01. No issues here. Windows 10 Pro 20H2. Edit: Apologies about this post. It turns out that I was still running v3.0, even though I had downloaded and run the AAS 'all-in-one' installer after the update was released. Chromaphone 3 v3.1 now causes Cakewalk to 'stop responding' when I try to load a 2nd instance of Chromaphone 3. Several other DAWs that I have now tested this with do not exhibit this behavior. It appears to be related to Cakewalk. And as I mentioned earlier, I am still on the January release of CbB, so it's not related to the new release of CbB.

  38. I'm on build 145 now, and today I had the same tempo-reversion issue that I reported earlier. (And this behavior is new, as of 2021.04) Create a new project using File | New and the basic template I always use Input name, bpm, sample rate into the resulting dialog - the project opens in CbB (note that the tempo is as I assigned) Save Import all audio files via File | Import | Audio - tempo remains as I assigned In track view, click (on the track number, just left of the track name and icon) to select one of the audio tracks ... Note that now the tempo has reverted to 100 bpm. Previously, I thought it was after I assigned the selected track to a track folder; but it actually happens as soon as I select a track in the interface. So, to correct, I: Return the Now marker to 1:01:000 Reset the tempo to my original assignment Re-save the project Now the tempo "sticks" and is undisturbed when I start to work in Track View. Of the four mix projects on which I experienced this behavior, three were from Dueling Mixes and today's was from pureMix. I don't really think it's the audio files ... -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update 5/25/21 -- downloaded and installed 2021.04, build 175, perhaps a week ago. This tempo-changing issue hasn't happened on the new build (and I've imported another 3 projects, since the new install). Thanks, guys! --------------------------------------------------------------------------

  39. It isn't even that hard. Just give us more ilok authorizations. I already bought an extra copy of each, but still woudl like to not have to transfer things around as I use more than 2 computers. That said, after getting MeldaTurboReverbLE, not sure I really need the exponential audio ones...and it doesn't have those terrible authorization limitiations.

  41. The AAS installer will place copies of the VST plugins into the following directories no matter what you ask it to use. One of them could be the source of any doubles you have (only the last one is my actual, real VST2 install dir): C:\Program Files (x86)\Applied Acoustics Systems\VST Plug-ins C:\Program Files (x86)\Cakewalk\VstPlugins C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Digidesign\DAE\Plug-ins C:\Program Files (x86)\Native Instruments\VSTPlugins C:\Program Files (x86)\Steinberg\VstPlugins C:\Program Files\Applied Acoustics Systems\VST Plug-ins C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST2 I think all the registry stuff is in: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Applied Acoustics Systems

  42. It's hard to put into words the feeling you get when you let go of the bonds of your body and explore the vast expanse of the universe by your lonesome self. It may seem lonely at first, but eventually many spirits like yourself pop up, all bearing different shades of purple, al coming from different lifetimes, different world, but all bearing the same struggles you did to get there. In that moment, you are one with the universe, basking in the serenity of the purple rain that is existence. This started off as an experiment with ambient electronica loops provided by Bandlab. Valerie did most of the work, I just happened to take over the mixing and mastering work. - Julayla
