Ya, I don’t always agree with Melda how they value purchases towards bundles. I do have a few gripes. But that’s for another thread.... Here is a video about differences and ideas how to use MB version that helped me out a bit.

There are no specific changes to the engine that would affect the core behavior, if anything CbB is a lot more efficient. You are probably running into Windows 7 legacy stuff. Cakewalk is compiled with the latest Microsoft tools compared to SONAR and perhaps that may account for some minor differences. More likely you have tweaked your system for SONAR in some ways and CbB is configured differently. Re crashes please submit any crashes you encounter for investigation. There are details in my sig about crash dumps. We've fixed hundreds of crashes that occurred in SONAR so CbB is more stable for most people by a long shot.

Like some other developers with roots in making UAD plug-ins PA does not provide a preset manager in their plug-ins. AFAIK, Unfiltered Audio is the only line the offers built -in preset managers. Instead they rely on the plug-in host for preset management. Maybe one day the rest will have built-in preset managers. The Cakewalk preset manager handles DX and VST but not VST3. The VST3 drop down to the right of the preset manager can load VST3 presets. Unfortunately, the way paths are handled in this drop down can make working with VST3 presets difficult. PA VST3 presets are stored in your Documents\VST3 Presets\Plugin Alliance folder

This must be about the 10th post with this issue. Possibly a Staff member could make a note to Please change the default to ALL. This bugged me to the point that I changed the Custom Preset to now show All. Open the Track Control Manager and choose " select all controls"

And at least in my case, they have failed entirely. Double-shot $20 voucher+already owning all the UfA licenses I want=digging around in the bargain bin. Next sale I'll probably pick up Mo-Verb so as to have the set handy. I haven't tried it yet, but I do realize that it's more transient shaper than something like proximity eq+. I like transient shapers, especially for salvage work. You know, those times when my TARDIS won't let me go back and record the material over again with better equipment or mic placement. If I were to encounter myself in my own time stream, it might do irreparable damage to reality, and an impromptu jam session that turned into everyone playing way above their abilities isn't worth risking existence itself.

Yes, in Cakewalk I tried many different PA VST3s and all the ones I tried had the same issue. Haven't had time to check other DAWs.

On another Plugin Alliance subject altogether - the presets don't work on any of the VST3 versions, the presets on VST2 versions work fine. Edit: updated images for clarity. Note that correct way to access VST3 presets in my follow up post lower↓

I liked the octaves bouncing in the second half of the song. Those are some great synths for sure, well arranged. cheers, -Tom

I haven't seen the movie or heard of this soundtrack piece before, it's pretty neat! I realize the tuning in spots is intentionally sacrificed for creepy effect - but the guitar panned left was a bit flat I think - 1:16 as an example. I really don't know if it matters, might be something to check if it's not your dissonant intention. A cool listen, thanks! cheers, -Tom

Clarent is an excellent Amp Sim, as are most of the other later ones (earlier one aren't nothing to sneeze at either) The Effektor are also excellent, I got everything a fair while back, it's all very useful, and with the free A360 it's nice to be able to have everything in 1 convenient package. Still not my No.1 goto, but it's there if I can't find what I want, or if I start noodling around and like something I come up with it usually stays.

Ahh, I thought it was just me! 😂I've been interested in learning and trying Live, but within 10 minutes I felt GUI so inflexible... Live seems to be designed from the ground up for a single (laptop!) monitor setup.

I had paid for Cakewalk, and updates for years. Spent a lot of money on it. I love the software. The last update I did with Cakewalk was supposed to be all updates free there on out. I was most disappointed when they sold to Bandlab as I had never heard of it. I must admit since Bandlab has taken over I think it has been great. I don't know how they do it for free and even keep updating the software. I really appreciate it.

If the dll is with other VSTs move it. If it is an a folder that doesn't have VSTs, remove that folder from your scan path. Don't forget, Cakewalk scans sub-folders, so watch out for that. CBS Products is cable installation.

Please go to the tutorials and spend some time with them your are asking about very basic stuff that is well documented in the help files and tutorials

This needs a bit more explanation. (Unless it was something to do with using 32-bit plugins/bitbridge.)

You need to have your old Cakewalk.com account to get access to your old stuff. If you forgot it then you have to contact Bandlab support.
