  7. I would only use those as a starting point or reference. You will not sound the same as those guys even if they let you use their gear. David Gilmour's primary amps were Hiwatt DR-100 half stacks, but he's been seen using all sorts of Fender combo amps over the years. Gilmour gets most of his drive from pedals, not from the amp. This is quite opposite from players like early Hendrix and Van Halen, where the sound is 99% the amp. I'll see if I can do a video about it.

  8. I figured "It would only make sense for them to leave the zip file you download from their installer or at least ask you if you want to keep it after install". I guess that feature is just asking too much.

  13. I was playing on the Vermillion amp the other day. I did have it paired with Red Wirez IR's, but it really had good rich sound that I was enjoying very much. [edit] And I just noticed that it's on sale at JRR for $19!! Wow! Great deal for that amp.

  29. If you put it into your cart there is an extra discount of $2.85. So you get it for only $16.15 ! I bought it yesterday without trial, because some time ago I purchased Cerberus Bass Amp and it blew my mind away! I didn't expect something like that for such a price! IMO one of the best bass amp simulations around, it comes near real gear. I hope Vermilion is of similar quality. I also like their autorisation with a key file, no hassle to install it on offline PCs and if a computer fails you do not have trouble to restore it (hardware ids and such ...).

  30. A recent study carried out in Finland and Germany - Use of Antiepileptic Drugs and Dementia Riskβ€”an Analysis of Finnish Health Register and German Health Insurance Data - concluded that although some antiepileptic drugs did correlate with an increased risk of dementia, gabapentin did not. I'm been taking gabapentin for neuropathic pain for nearly 10 years. Currently I'm on 2,400 mg daily (800 mg 3 x a day) - the recommended maximum dosage is 1,800 mg daily, with an absolute maximum of 3,600 mg. For me it takes the edge off the pain, although not always as much as I would like. * * Consider that an example of British understatement.

  34. @Starship Krupa i use a sidechain compressor on VI bass triggered by the kick all the time. just can't see it/hear it while soloing busses. i can solo the BOTH tracks and hear it though. you see in the graphics the kick is triggering the bass track compressor - both tracks need to be soloed for this to work or solo turned off across the board. bass is non-frozen: with the bass track frozen (kick -> bass sidechain): so it looks like it's being captured correctly.

  37. While I greatly prefer Orange Tree Samples Evolution guitars approach because they permit you to play any ideas in your head instead of being limited to pre-recorded loops, regarding the criticism of virtual Instruments, I see enormous value in them. I spent two decades playing drums semi-professionally (mostly playing clubs, colleges, fests and sometimes touring on the weekends), so I am very aware of how little drummers are being used in recording studios these days. The joy and benefits of virtual Instruments to songwriters and hobbyists is especially invaluable.

  39. I guess you did not get the memo Bob, you can not use that name (Stonewall Jackson ) no more. You know cancel culture and all. πŸ˜› Just kidding. I did find out he is still alive and 88 years old. Also found this little tidbit: "In 2006, Jackson sued the Grand Ole Opry for $10 million in compensatory damages and $10 million in punitive damages, claiming age discrimination. As a member of the Opry for over fifty years, Jackson believed management was sidelining him in favor of younger artists. In his court filing, Jackson claimed that Opry general manager Pete Fisher stated that he did not "want any gray hairs on that stage or in the audience, and before I'm done there won't be any." Fisher is also alleged to have told Jackson that he was "too old and too country". The lawsuit was settled on October 3, 2008 for an undisclosed amount and Jackson returned to performing on the show. He has been a member of the Opry since 1956." Every Mothers Nightmare - Muddy Water

  40. @John VereJust to clarify there is something that may have thrown off your loopback test making it look worse than it was for other driver modes. Only ASIO allows the DAW to know the roundtrip latency by querying the driver itself. (the ASIO reported latencies setting in driver settings) This latency offset is used to place recorded audio precisely on the timeline after you record audio. Cakewalk cannot automatically determine the adjustment value for other driver modes, however you can manually compute and enter this value yourself here by entering a manual offset. Also in theory there is nothing that prevents WDM (or WASAPI exclusive for that matter) from being one equivalent in performance to ASIO. The only difference being driver vendors don't put in the effort to make it work properly. On Mac OS ASIO is almost non existent because vendors just write a core audio driver. Not so on PC. PS: WASAPI is pronounced like he spoke it. Most developers don't spell it out. Same with ASIO.

  41. very nice work! couple of thoughts: 1) ASIO4ALL - maybe tweak this video or add an appendix video to showing how ASIO4ALL isn't really ASIO so it's fixed in peoples minds... 2) WASAPI is "was-A.P.I." or "W.A.S.A.P.I" not "was-sappy" πŸ™‚ like ASIO is not "ah-see-oh" πŸ˜‰
