I completed a survey for iZotope yesterday. I pointed out the lack of thought they put into checking the current level of ownerships at these times. I personally own MP4 almost entirely but not MP3.. so it’s a silly update price for me.3 points

A tropical storm is headed close to us (we'll probably get a fringe of it for a few days unless current predictions are wrong. So I'll listen closely to see if the wind really does cry Mary. "The Wind Cries Mary" - The Jimi Hendrix Experience3 points

And yes, many of these IK sales polices are kind of crazy. Losing jam points when you transfer a product. Lots of NFR rules. Expiring downloads. etc. It does seem kind of endless and filled with gotchas.3 points

You can create multis with layers or splits (hi/lo key ranges assignable for each) with up to 8 plug-in instruments from your VST collection. Each instrument has 4 insert FX plug-in slots, and sends to the 4 available busses. Looks like a mixer window in a DAW. The instruments don't have to be NKS ready. They just need to be able to share preset info with VIP. Most plugins work for this, but some do not. VIP can't fix this if the plug-in developer did not provide this ability. Some instruments have factory preset maps, but they can be user generated. The browser will index the presets based on the factory and user maps, and tags can be assigned. I have over 23,000+ presets listed in mine, that can be filtered by tags such as instrument, timbre, style, and articulation. The presets generally load fast, and don't need to open the plugin UI to play. The instrument UI is optional, and not needed to browse and select presets. Downside: Does not support loading VST3. The workaround for this is to insert VIP as a plugin in your DAW, and then insert any VST3 instruments side by side with VIP in the DAW mixer. In this manner VIP functions as a virtual sub-mixer for any VIP multis that you created.3 points

Overview: The Organic Calfskin Kit (OCK) is an acoustic drum VST3 ROMpler plugin for both Mac and Windows. This is a comprehensive and easy-to-use solution to working with the thousands of multi-track/multi-velocity samples. This specific download features samples from the Default-Dry kit. This kit is a moderately dry sounding setup that offers good punch for modern music styles and minimal sustain for easy mixing. I've been surprised with some gear though. Long and boring story how I got to this point but I found that all of my DI options weren't working out for the purpose that I needed them for in a particular instance and the only 2 devices I had laying around was some cheap $50 job, which was utterly terrible - noisy and destroyed the guitar impedance - and an old ART Studio V3 that I had sitting in the live room collecting dust. I wasn't expecting much from that but wow, it ended up being surprisingly good, especially on bass. I wouldn't call it transparent but I really kind of dig what it does change and that's what I'm using for my main DI for guitars now. It's always worth giving something a try if you have it on hand!2 points

I played this for a few hours last night and it is incredible. There are seriously Omnisphere-worthy sounds in this thing and I don’t throw those words around. I spend a ton of time on Omni and know SA2 pretty well too. This has tons of amazing new sounds, the kind you load and want to keep playing and playing It’s a big advance over version 2 There is also a lot of overlap with UVI libraries like their digital modules. It’s not just pads, leads, arps, etc. —there are some very good digital keys in there too. Fun sampled sounds from the old days. I was playing a lot of lush choirs and vox.2 points

Yeah the sound of those boxes awesome - I'm pretty sure I saw the Savoy - Doucet Band at a festival one time they were across here in the UK when cajun was really popular. I liked dancing to it - could never get the foot moves (two left feet) but was great at the all in wrestling bit with my arms!1 point

Thanks Noel. I have doubled the pic cache without effect. It still seems to redraw after every action. I think it gets slower after the folder fills up with picture files? Anyway this is the first track from our latest session.. https://jademann4.wixsite.com/liveornothing/rehearsals1 point

Many thanks everyone for the stellar feedback to this EA release and helping us make it as stable as possible. We have fixed all the reported issues related to the new features. We also included a couple of small additions. Special callout to @Promidi @Maestro @Steve Harder for all the great feedback on articulation maps. Also @Toy who spent many hours helping us troubleshoot a complex intermittent problem with the arranger and articulation UI. Barring any further issues we should release the final version very soon.1 point
