  1. Free - 32 patches for Newfangled Audio's Generate and/or Pendulate Edit: fixed link I've decided to share 32 patches that I created for Newfangled Audio's new synths Generate and/or Pendulate. The patches cover a bit of everything (sound FX, Basses, throbbers, gliders, leads, etc). Main restriction is that I ask that you don't distribute the library or post it on other sites - see the EULA in the zip. Have fun, I'm curious as to what you can do with them. Sorry but don't have the time at the moment to throw up audio demos - but feel free to link in your own creations/demos on this thread. If I like it I'll post links to it on my web site. The link for the patches is at the bottom of the page linked above. While it would be nice if you checked the page out - your welcome to just scroll down & grab your copy - and no registration or email address submission is required! Hope that you find it useful. Best regards, ...Steven

  2. Thanks for the kind words 😊 Often the quickest way to get to the bottom of a problem rather than sending endless messages, is to observe it and do tests directly on the users PC. In this case Greg had an issue that he had reported here and on facebook where he was getting crackling when moving his mouse only over the bus view. I had some other customers over the years report issues like this but since this was a more specific report I thought it was worth investigating further. He has a modern I9 and the project wasn't overly complex although he had a lot of cpu expensive plugins. I was unable to reproduce the issue even with his project file so I did some analysis of the code that is affected by mouse movement on buses and spotted some obvious inefficiencies. I did some optimizations to the hit test logic that makes it use a lot less CPU. After I sent a build to Greg it appeared to completely solve his problem and he is able to run the project at 128 samples now with no artifacts on mouse movement or scrolling. The strange thing to me is that despite having fixed it, I believe the original issue to be a system specific problem with one of his drivers. MOTU, UAD or the NVIDIA driver. Its hard to say which one caused it, but load on the UI should in general NOT affect audio streaming on a multi-core CPU since the audio engine runs on high priority threads that are not gated by the UI. IOW the UI can be 100% busy and you shouldn't hear artifacts. The only way the audio device would get blocked is if somehow this activity blocked the audio driver at the kernel level. Whatever the cause is, I'm happy that the improvements addressed his issue and the fixes should improve performance across the board as well!

  5. I have just upgraded from K12 to K13U so I have tons of new stuff to check out, GR6 being one of them. So I haven't had as long as I would have liked to give it a thorough test. In the other thread I said that the new amp models are excellent and I also thought the old ones sounded better. That's probably due to what Magic Russ says above (always in HQ mode, better matched cabs etc.). It would be good if they re-did some of the old models using the new modeling technique and they seem to be open to the idea of adding new stuff as their webpage says... Looking at the input filter section it's clearly not just aimed at guitar but as a general FX processor and it seems like a useful update over the old version in that respect. There are a lot of good presets including artist ones with a promise of more to come in future. I was getting some really interesting sounds with the Flair Arpeggiator preset. There are a bunch of modifiers such as LFO which you can assign to almost anything for example a LFO assigned to the tone control of an amp. The new Softube effects are a welcome addition as are the new matched amp cabs which use IRs from Ownhammer and 3 Sigma Audio. There's also a demo version --> hhttps://www.native-instruments.com/en/products/komplete/guitar/guitar-rig-6-pro/downloads/ ...and the manual can also be downloaded from that link.

  6. I haven't had a lot of time to play with it, but... I like the Fire Breather amp a lot. It's a Marshall type amp with 3 different gain levels. I preferred it over the British Collection in Amplitube. The Chicago is based on a 50s era type Fender amp. It has nice character for clean settings. It sounds ok broken up with single coils, less so with my bridge humbucker. Like I've said in another thread, although the old amps are the same (just always in HQ mode), the new matched cabinets are much better than either the old matched cabinets or the control room components. You have fewer options but the options they give you sound much cleaner and more present. While this doesn't make the old amps sound state of the art, it does help them sound a bit better. Anyone who already has the mod pack knows that they sound quite good on guitar. It's nice to see that they are included now. It's also nice to see their vintage compressors, solid series, and reverb classics included. There's also a component called Dirt. It can get some interesting fuzz and distortion sounds.

  10. Thanks Steven, Appreciate the gesture. Will have a play with them later. For anyone with Unify you can get the Unified Pendulate factory library from the comments section of the video below. As well as the factory patches it also includes some bonus patches some of which feature the polybox trick to make Pendulate polyphonic.

  12. Best leave VST3 plug-ins in the default "C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3" folder and DO NOT create a directory junction to it. The scanner treats the VST3 folder a little differently than other VST folders.

  19. https://www.izotope.com/en/products/neoverb/features.html iZotope has introduced a new smart reverb for music making. Neoverb is an intelligent reverb that uses a real-time Reverb Assistant to help you get a great reverb for any track. From the minds behind Ozone and Nectar, and powered by legendary Exponential Audio technology, iZotope Neoverb is the most intelligent reverb plug-in for music producers. Neoverb gets you to an exciting starting point with a new Reverb Assistant that guides you through settings with a simple four-click process. Create exactly the space you want for vocal and instrument tracks using an intuitive Blend Pad to mix rooms, plates, chambers, and more. Shape and tame reverb using intelligent Pre and Post EQs that listen to your audio and make suggestions, helping you add depth while retaining clarity in your mix. Whether you’re a new producer honing your craft, or a veteran on your latest project, with iZotope Neoverb, you can focus on creativity and leave the trial-and-error behind. Neoverb features Reverb Assistant: Get a great reverb for any track, with an easy four-step Assistant that adjusts iZotope Neoverb’s settings in real time. Create complex, customized reverbs, without spending time in menus. Choose your preferred Size while iZotope Neoverb automatically selects and blends reverb combinations and advanced settings as you move the sliders. Add a little vibe with four different Tone selections that further adjust your reverb to give you dark, airy, bright sounds. Reverb Assistant listens to your audio and makes further EQ suggestions to get the cleanest possible reverb tone. Blend Pad: iZotope Neoverb’s innovative Blend Pad gets you further, faster by helping you visualize and mix three different types of reverbs at once, to create a unique reverb tail that fits your track. Blend different types of reverb together: Add realistic space with Early Reflections and Room, classic environments with Plate, and height and depth with Chamber and Hall. Separate Size controls for each reverb type to let you create epic guitar tones, construct massive drum rooms, or dream up completely exotic spaces to make your mix unique. EQ Section: Get a great reverb sound without using a long plug-in chain, with a fluid EQ section helps you clean your input signal and keeps your reverb tail from overwhelming your mix. Use Unmask to have iZotope Neoverb listen to your reverb settings and make EQ suggestions to help your final result come through clear against the original signal. AutoCut listens for areas of your track that might create unwanted resonances in the reverb and automatically suggests cuts in the Pre-EQ. Masking Meter: Easily keep track of reverb build-up with an intuitive meter that highlights EQ areas you may want to cut from your reverb. Masking Meter communicates with other iZotope plug-ins to show you where reverb is masking other tracks, and is compatible with the following iZotope plug-ins: Neutron 3, Nectar 3, VocalSynth 2, Relay. Advanced Panel: For when you need to tweak a setting, or take a closer look at Reverb Assistant’s results, the Advanced Panel lets you dive as deep as you need to find the exact vibe you’re looking for. Unique Advanced settings for each reverb unlock even more creative possibilities and exciting new spaces to explore. Advanced Controls are set by Reverb Assistant and can be saved as unique presets for later use. Input Smoothing: Keep your dynamics even and avoid artifacts in the reverb tail with one simple control that reduces the sharp, percussive transients in your reverb. Modulation (Mod): Neoverb includes a modulation panel to give you even more control over your reverb tail. Two different modes offer subtle modulation to avoid buildup, or a classic chorus for a more pronounced mixing effect. Resizable: Built for the demands of the modern music producer, window resizability ensures iZotope Neoverb fits in your workflow—and your screen. Presets: iZotope Neoverb comes packed with over 100 inspiring presets created by iZotope’s team of professional sound designers. Explore presets for vocals, guitars, experimental spaces, and more. Neoverb is on sale at iZotope and Plugin Boutique at the introductory pricing of $199 USD until November 10th, 2020 (regular $249 USD). Owners of ANY paid iZotope product can crossgrade for $99 USD during the promotion. It is on sale for $599 USD (regular $999 USD), with upgrades starting from $199 USD.

  26. Hey guys! Hope all of you are doing well Got this track I previously posted all done now! Lyrics: Intro *Humming to melody* *Doorbell* Just a second, be right there *Bang, bang, bang* I'm coming, I'm coming, relax... jeez *Door opening* Oh… it's you The ***** do you want? Nah, I don't wanna hear you out Please, just leave Verse 1 Please, leave, I can't believe I have to sit this through You're making me suffer and you agreed that we should quit it too Seeing each other, you had to do it again didn't you? Come to my home even though you know I have forbidden you Remember last time I laughed at your acts and had you ridiculed? And yet you're back, how the hell do I get rid of you? You're not supposed to be here, I know that we've been tight But that relationship has sailed, you know the reasons why You never treat me right, you beef, we fight, oh don’t apologize You're such a mess I guess obsessed with blowing smoke behind my eyes I couldn’t care less if you meant it, all I know is I'm alright When I'm alone, please just go stop growing lies inside my mind But it's not easy is it? Listen, it's smart to say farewell We share the same visions these visits make it harder for ourselves But how can you leave me when you're a part of all my cells? I need help, here I'm sittin' and just talking to myself Chorus We share this bruise So why do you appear so cruel? How are you gonna carry through? If you aren't there for you And if it's scarin’ you You gotta use that fear as fuel You aren't gonna carry through If you aren’t, there for you Verse 2 Listen I've wandered this earth as blind, searching for signs I used to think there's nothing worse having no purpose in life But I was wrong cuz what is worse and yes I'm certain this time Is to hide from your own purpose cuz the hurdles are high To realize you run in circles, and work a disguise You find so perfect, but it isn't and the person inside Knows that it isn't and this person plays games versus your mind I've felt pain, but I swear nothing can hurt me like I I don't know why I'm such a burden and can't service my life How it is a nurturing guy can turn and just murder my rhymes You know my body's burning with pride as I finish a lyric I feel terrific, optimistic, the sky is the limit Then in a blink of an eye I begin to mimic this critic The next minute I'm picnicking with a sinister cynic It's sickening, I'm listening, say I handle it okay This belittling but ***** it man I stand in my own way Chorus We share this bruise So why do you appear so cruel? How are you gonna carry through? If you aren't there for you And if it's scarin’ you You gotta use that fear as fuel You aren't gonna carry through If you aren’t, there for you Outro *Door slamming* Get the ***** out of here I don't wanna hear from you ever again Just get the ***** out of my head Jesus *****ing Christ man

  28. Melda's stuff doesn't have the curb appeal, but they definitely cover the bases of most things out there. It made me step back and think for a second... when the 50% off bundles hits, MCompleteBundle is roughly 1100USD, which is about 10USD per plugin (just over 100 of them). Actually, roughly 1/3 have free single-band processing versions (MFreeFXBundle), so is more like 15USD per plugin; not too shabby with the free upgrades for life behind them. iZotope has been consistent with upgrade pricing, and it seems after the acquisition of Exponential Audio, they are putting less in their core products and pushing reverbs as additional content. Paulo may be on the money about them just getting around to putting an iZotope GUI on the front end of them.

  29. Hear hear! If I'm going to buy yet another reverb I don't need, and probably won't use beyond the initial dicking-around-with stage, let's have it cost $16 instead of $50!

  31. Sending positive thoughts both your and her way! Just so you know, my Mom is currently 91, but 22 years ago she had ovarian cancer that wasn't caught early (due to some very inept doctors!). They ended up removing a 5.2 pound tumor the size of a watermelon and performing a hysterotomy. There was a less than 1% chance of survival but, as the age I posted above proves, she made the intention to beat the odds and did! She was only one of two people to survive that condition that year. So, it may be the "Mike Tyson of cancers," but that doesn't mean you can't be the Buster Douglas of survivors! 😉

  34. I'm eyeing this one too. It's on sale through November so there's time. But Tube Modulator is really excellent, and based on that alone, this dev is definitely on my "watch list" now. Another option is MReverbMB for $16! It's worth the "investment, even if you don't like it, to use for reducing bundle prices during Black Friday. At this price you come out ahead. I'm a little "meh" about the sound of it, but really haven't given it a good try yet. What really interests me though, is that I'm playing with the "Spatial Positioning" feature and putting it in front of another reverb to move things around the stereo field. It seems to work pretty well so far.

  38. First impressions of GR6 are that it's a really big upgrade from GR5 and not just for guitar (you can filter the browser for effects for different instruments)! It has an excellent new resizable UI and browser. A quick flick through some of the amps and effects and I think they sound a big improvement on GR5. This could actually replace most of the other stuff I own. Just downloading Noire now and feeling like a kid with too many new toys and not enough time to play with them ! Pharlight and Super 8 will be next, oh and Stradivari Violin.

Lyrics below link - ooh and the excellent James G played a solo on it Laughter and Tears Written and performed by Staypress with James Griffiths on Lead Guitar and Liz Greenway on backing vocals V1 When we said 'I do' and 'for better or worse' The words we said, we thought our hearts would burst Many years on we still believe in The power of what we said that evening Prechorus For richer or poorer I choose this life In sickness and health I'd still make you my wife Chorus I know you're gonna stay with me Grow grey with me No need to count the years There'll be laughter and tears I know you're gonna stay with me Grow grey with me No need to count the years There'll be laughter and tears V2 There'll be laughter and tears in equal measure There'll be pain and there'll be pleasure We can watch love grow and our crow's feet blossom Through the ups and downs, everybody's got em Prechorus Chorus Break Chorus to end

Squeeze was a great band I thought and I hope that's a compliment - I always appreciated their willingness to break conventions and rules in things like chord selections, melodies, and arrangements. That's what this song has going for it in spades - plus another excellent mix with clarity and separation. Loved it. cheers, -Tom
