  2. I have seen a number of excellent tributes, on this forum, to individuals that have recently passed on. This is my tribute to a person that I admire -- U. S. House of Representative John Lewis. From all accounts he was a very kind, compassionate, moral, and dedicated man. The story (in this song) of the relationship between Elwin Wilson and Rep. Lewis is a powerful one that took courage from both men and demonstrated the behaviour that most religions encourage. I posted the song on this forum a few years ago (it is somewhere down the list on my SoundClick site) and this version has the video attached. I hope that you enjoy it. 8. Yeah I came across those and quite a few more on my search, what I recall was more to do with Mixbus, and I remember the end of it all was kinda like a unanimous 'Well there you have it, no need to wonder about that any more' type of thing. But I have spent enough time looking, it could be a discussion inside a discussion inside a discussion. Anyway doesn't really matter, as long as no one falls off and gets hurt . . .

  10. Ah... so you do mean the fader throw length, not the size of the faders themselves. I'd be a fan of allowing for user adjustable fader throw. I just wouldn't change it for myself, and I'd hope that the more screen-space efficient current size would remain as an option. I'm also a fan of adding sidechain routing to the plugin window.

  11. ^^^ Yup. Much bigger deal than file indexing. An even bigger boogeyman is your network interface. Might want to consider shutting that service off if you're having any performance issues. When I was struggling with a potato computer, I wrote a batch file to disable the network before starting up SONAR. Windows just assumes that nothing you could possibly be doing on your computer is more important than getting Microsoft notifications in a timely manner.

  13. I agree! I've been wanting this kind of simplified sidechain-selection for a long time. Logic has had a similar GUI option as Sequioa for many, many years. It would be a great workflow enhancer!

  14. I'd like to the ability to use the "drum notes" view in the Piano Roll without having to set up a drum map. Also the ability to edit the note names and save for future reference. See the way Reaper handles this as an example. I've always found the drum maps in Sonar clunky and way too complicated for my needs.

  16. For your consideration, here is a melodic little number that reflects on the question given in the title. A suggested point to consider is given somewhere near the end. Ya, being a faithful follower of "stay at home" during the bad part of this pandemic (especially here in Florida), I have had too much time to spend thinking. Thinking is always a dangerous time for me. Anyway, it is a bit different for me and being such I hope that you might provide feedback, suggestions, crit's, etc. Thanks and I hope you enjoy it. 17. I have let my hair grow out for the first time in over 10 years. I usually keep it shaved but now it's grown out, very grey and looks infaltable just like this guy! In the not to distant future a dad buys a ROBOT at a discount. The robot interface glitches and slaps the people who lie. (AT DINNER) DAD: Son,How's school? SON: Great! We learned many things. ROBOT slapped SON SON: Ok,I went to the movies. DAD: What did you watch? SON: Toy Story 2 ROBOT slapped SON again SON: Ok, a rated R movie. DAD: I never watched movies like that. ROBOT slapped DAD DAD: Ok, I watched a R rated movie when I was 14 years old. MOM: There, There, stop this argument because he is in puberty stage and HE IS YOUR SON. ROBOT slapped MOM.

  23. Turn off Always Echo Current MIDI Track and take manual control of input echo. If all you want to do is play both synths using the same data, record one instrument then copy the clip(s) into the other instrument track making sure to link the clips (an option in paste special). Linked clips allow edits to propagate to both tracks. Clips may be unlinked at any time. Streaming samples my reduce the load on the PC. This is configured in the plug-ins that support the feature. It is also a good idea to post separate threads for unrelated topics. Adding multiple topics in a thread does not help other users looking for solutions.

  26. Thanks for pointing these out - I've raised a bug for the select issue, and a change request for the other as the PRV never respected the zoom at now time settings. Both of these should be fixed for the general release. Note that the “Center on Now Time with Keyboard Zoom” setting only applies to keyboard zoom (which the PRV does actually respect) - but it's the Mouse Zoom options that the PRV isn't taking into account:

  27. Good idea, it could be an option where you can make them taller or shorter, just like you can make them narrow and wide. Maybe another option is that you could (user selectable) have the fader pop out when selected or when hovering over the meter. What I really like is the lay-out of Sonalksis FreeG (a free plugin!) which I started using for mastering/gain staging thanks to one of the excellent tutorials CbB Gain Staging of Creative Sauce. I would love to see a similar functional fader build in into CbB.

  29. And the really, really pathetically ridiculous thing about this premise is that it's based on Hz. Ever asked yourself "what really is Hertz?" A. Simple, it's cycles per second. Q.What exactly is a second? A. Well, it's a sixtieth of a minute. Q. What's a minute? A. A sixtieth of an hour. Q. What's an hour? A. A twenty-fourth of a day. Q. But why 24? Why not, for example, ten hours in a day, 100 minutes in an hour and a hundred seconds in a minute? Wouldn't that be more logical? Q. Why 24, 60 , 60? It makes no sense. Lets change to 10, 100, 100. New hours, new minutes and new seconds. Then Hz changes; the speed of light changes (or, rather, the way we measure it, and so on. The second is just some arbitrary way that humans decided to measure time, who knows how long ago. It's not a fixed cosmological constant. Why 360 degrees in a circle. Why not 100 degrees in a right angle then a circle would be 400 degrees. My children asked me these questions around 30 years ago. Any thoughts?

  31. Yes that would be very nice. Even for a small number of take lanes the process is a pain. Tried copying & pasting take lanes and it doesn't work. Aside for duping the track & removing unwanted takes you can individually shift-click & drag each track lane to an empty area below that last track and it will move that track lane into a newly created audio track. So you'll want your track to be the last one to avoid dragging over multiple tracks and then practice a bit to get the feel for it so you don't screw things up and accidentally lose a take here & there like I did the first time I tried.

  34. I found a couple of issues in the Piano Roll: - Sticky Selects: Selecting notes doesn't always deselect notes that were previously selected - Runaway Zoom: Zooming in and out seems to move the focus away from the now marker even when the track options are set to focus on the now marker

  37. I have it and do use it....it's pretty good and you can everything from mild to extreme. You can get some interesting sounds out of the 4 channel signal chain. I recently just put it on a few guitar tracks and got some very good results (a one stop multi Fx plugin). Definitely worth more than the $10 asking price. I only have one machine, so not really worried about the iLok thing.

  38. Well done! I love that guitar work that is panned left. It has that sound that often appears in the songs of Rokia Traore. I have tried to duplicate that sound but have failed miserably. You managed to capture that rhythmic push that is inherent in most west African music. The vocals sounded great. Well done indeed!!

  42. Another good amp sim from Mercuriall is the SS-11X (IMO, very underrated). The clean tones are very pleasant/ responsive and the crunch/distortion are very nice as well (even at low volumes). It also came with some excellent IR's + greed smasher, and I also use their free Chorus pedal.....very, very nice all together. I found the best tones are using the 8x oversampling setting. Throw the Freqout pedal in front and this thing simply rocks!

  44. If the synth audio is mono (track interleave setting), then a freeze adds about +3dB. In the case the loudness was too hot if may even distort caused by clipping. So just keep that in mind! It is also interesting that changing the interleave from stereo to mono (unfrozen track), then the loudness level increases already +3dB, i.e. after freezing it is +6dB louder! With stereo synths there may only be a difference if FX has been included in the freeze (as mentioned above) or if the synth values have been changed.
