  1. Before you guys search too hard for an alternative solution... there will be a key binding in the next release.

  2. If there's one thing I've learned over the last two years about pricing it is this: -- it's tricky... Too high? Too low? Too good to be true? Too silly? -- yep I've been accused of (and at times been) all of these... So now its time for you to decide. This years summer sale is a "Name Your Own Price" sale. Every one of the 15 Kontakt instruments on Channel Robot is now set up so you can name whatever price you want to pay, there's a minimum of $5.00 (to try and cover some of the costs of running this) and a maximum equal to the retail price, but you can have anything in between. have at it, and good luck. Please note, our VST/AU plug-ins are not included in this sale (yet). https://channelrobot.com/product-category/kontaktproducts/

  3. Never used Ableton so no idea what happens there, but if I understand correctly you want to send several tracks to the same fx plugin? You can do this if you put the fx plugin on a bus and either set the outputs of your tracks to that bus or insert sends to that bus if you want to also keep the pre fx sound in the mix

  7. Yes, the headphone cord does look pretty shmutzy. I'm going to experiment next time with making the headphone cord go down my back. These two took FOREVER to make because I made a million mistakes. It took me a very long time even to get Voicemeeter working so I could pump Cubase into OBS. Nobody tells you that no screen capture program will record a DAW. 🙁 After them I did a video on Organic Samples' Solo Opera and I had the breakthrough of being able to look into the camera. I'll keep at it and will get better. My next one will be about the ROLI Seaboard. I intend to do a video someday to show people ways to save money. And one of my top tips will be Larry the King. 👑 Thanks for the subscribes!

  8. I've decided to get serious about my YouTube channel, and do a lot more videos. I've just done two videos on SORA, a library I really love. And which is still 50% off, at the price Larry lists above, so it still qualifies for this forum. In the first video, I talk about the features and GUI. Part Two is me making music with it. If any of you could find it in your hearts to subscribe to fhis frog's channel, it would mean a lot to me. Thanks, Tiger

  10. Short story ...one of my Windows 10 computers with all my music software including my all i Lock stuff decided to upgrade the Win 10 OS ... I had babied this computer and kept it on a metered connection ...all was fine .... it only went online for music software updates ...I recently changed my Internet home situation and still had this as metered connection while only using Wi FI on my home router .... I was recording all last night and I noticed the thing was running a little sluggish so I looked in task mgr and didn't see anything there that would indicate my computer was downloading a new OS ...next thing you know I get greeted with a pushy message that I have to restart my computer ...I was recording and mixing so I kept hitting an hour later option ... A couple of hours ago I finally let this thing restart and it takes a good Hour and a half to do what ever the EFF it has to do to replace my OS w a new one I didn't ask for or want .Now I'm up $hits creek because the first thing it did was to eliminate my DVD drive . 2 or 3 things I always pay extra to get the disks when I buy software . I also like to be able to watch a move once in a while on my lap top ...also why the hell would I want to loose my DVD drive when I use SONY Vegas ..not to mention I also have other software to author discs for CD and DVD ...I go in the device mgr and try both options ...search computer for driver and search online . It comes back saying I have the right driver installed ...yet it was invisible old OS ...a windows search can up dry ...I go online to look up the driver for my drive and it turns out everybody w the same drive is in the same boat ....no driver ....I decided to roll back my system to the older OS VIA win software updates and it tells me Window will be restored to the previous version of OS ......Yeah Right ...I wait 20 mins and my computer goes to restart and it winds up Blue screening and saying I am missing a critical component to be able to go forward with my restoration ....it goes into an endless cycle of a loop where it tries to restart then it blue screens ...on and on and on .... I had enough I unpluged it , pulled out the battery and threw it in a draw ... I PHUCKING Hate you Microsoft , as a company you feel you always have the right to constantly shove $hit at my hardware forcing things on me I don't want period . any one here wants to Judge me go right ahead ...there is a reason I kept my HD recorder and I still use an old Mac sometimes when I record my music ....that stuff actually works also I keep my chops up to the point where I only want to do one or two takes at most ...trust me man I don't use or need comping and a few things some people like use ...I'm not saying there is anything wrong w that stuff or the people that like to use it ....The thing is I come from a merit based performance background..... if i can't play it and sing like a little birdie like a Bald Eagle tweeting in the sky I don't try to record it plain and simple ..I'm at the point where I would rather shake my ***** in a $hit bar for peanuts live than sit here and try to compete with every internet producer and expert .....used to be guitars player were a dime a dozen now it's music experts that can;t play and music producers .... anyway that part of my rant over Now that my computer can't start I can't even get a list of what went wrong as per their little BS messages + what my fricking hardware drive version is shheesh I'm seriously considering moving on down the road . 13. It's just a totally different sort of sound. I didn't even bother trying it at first, because like you, I had Capitol Chambers, + Ocean Way + the Lexicons and EMTs. I tried it on a whim when an amp sim didn't have built in reverb, and quickly started putting it on other things as well. The other UAD 'verbs are great; this one just has a totally different character to it.

  15. Huh... nah, I wasn't too crazy about the winning entry. The orchestral aspects were very nice, but the 16bit Nintendo stuff.. for me, it just didn't vibe with the futuristic feel of the video. Even the humor bits I didn't quite "get" while watching against the action in the video. But what I do I know, I've never done this before! Some of the runner up snippets sounded really good though - very realistic and traditional sounding orchestra pieces.

  21. The answer is yes. However you can't group all of the controls in your selected tracks into a single group (Well you can but the results will not be what you are expecting). Select the tracks you want to group then Cntrl+Right Click a control (like the fader or pan knob). Group is one of the options in the context menu. Group management in Cakewalk can be very flexible and powerful. For more information RTFM (again and again and...). * I think we are all misunderstanding what you want. *** @paulogot it Maybe you want to create a Bus? Then route multiple tracks to that bus? In Cakewalk the term Groups refers to control groups or clip groups.

  22. This is really a good sounding song, coherent in itself. I especially like the bass sound and the voice as it was mixed, with that certain shimmer, if you know what I mean. Very good work, I like it a lot.

  23. I'd like to see bigger, more legible text options. When you zoom in, to the PRV like this, there should be plenty of Space to make the Db 3 really stand out.

  25. First of all, welcome to the forum and to Cakewalk by BandLab. You've asked a great question. To properly answer your question it's nice to know what music genre Future funk is part of. That gives me an idea of how the music is created, through recording or electronic music. I performed an internet search and Wikipedia states Future funk is a sub genre of Vaporwave. That tells me you are more interested in creating electronic music than in recording musicians or singers. Deeper reading reveals Based on that article I'd think you may want to look at what BandLab Assistant and the online Bandlab platform has to offer in addition to looking at Cakewalk by BandLab (CbB). While CbB can certainly be used to create electronic music, it may not be the best place to start or the best tool for the job. BandLab Assistant offers many free loop packages that are suitable for use in creating music based in electronic music while the online platform offers many tools to enhance the loops. Cakewalk by BandLab calls loops "Groove Clips". The program is one of the few that can be used to create loops. I would use the program to create loops, use the loop matrix to assemble them into tracks, use the console view to add effects, use the tracks to consolidate the clips into a continious audio file and then combine everything into a stereo mix. I'm a beginner myself so I may not be the best advisor. I'm sure others will chime in and offer specific suggestions.

  27. Latest Livestream streamed last night (I now have Cloud City and it is awesome). This includes coverage of the Synapse Obession synth which John has made a free Unify library for (the synth is $99 though) and Stutter Edit 2. The crash I was getting is now fixed by the way and was caused by having 2 instances of Dexed - just delete one of them in Unify and it's sorted.

  29. David's entry had humor, it referenced the genre of science fiction (robots), it had a melody that one could recall, it had genuine surprise at key moments (the others only superficially created surprise). Also, David's had multiple levels of ideas going, whereas the others only had one main idea throughout. I'm only comparing to the runner's up. I'm sure out of 11k there were probably over 1k that were great, but why blame spitfire? :D:DCompetitions only give an approximation of a meritocracy. Really it comes down to who you know don't it?

  30. Worth a watch if you have Scaler, it uses Scaler 1 but all applies to Scaler 2. And gives you solid background for new Scaler2 modal features. This tutorial really stuck concepts into my mind. It is long but worth the time. Uses Scaler to demo some basic but deep and detailed chord theory. And for more modal theory.

  32. The scenario: I'm editing or comping away furiously, and hit the middle button to bring up the HUD to switch tools. I click and hold on the "Wrench" button, and realize that I spaced and that what I really wanted was one of the drawing tools, which are under the "Pencil" button. So I lift off the "Wrench" button before I've actually made a selection and click on the "Pencil" button and....poof! the HUD vanishes. If there is a setting that will change this behavior, please tell me, otherwise, FEATURE REQUEST: Please allow us to change our minds about which tool we want while we've got the HUD open. Clicks on buttons on the HUD shouldn't banish it until the user has "sealed the deal" and chosen a tool or edit filter or note duration. Clicks outside the HUD should banish it. Or whatever, at least it shouldn't go away when I'm earnestly trying to click on a button.

  35. Keep it up '80's man!!! I'm right there with ya. It's a great rendition and you have a touch with this. There's a bit of sibilance on the vocals in spots. "Mistaken" "Speak" I highly recomment Oeksound Soothe, it would fit in well with your other toys. I do like how your posts give the background on your tools, and "Ozone 8 doing whatever it felt like doing" was pretty epic! I would cut the intro or at least cut the high pitched quick filtered synth up top, it opens your effort and makes me think "video game" but that's just me. I think your effort has more weight and substance than an intro with "bleep blurp bleep" signifies. cheers, -Tom

  43. Thanks David! I appreciate your words and sentiment very much. Wow, I'm glad that worked for you. It was a lot of fun to do the vocals because I didn't have to "doctor" them up because they were in my range. I'm gonna have to try that technique again... Makke, I'm always glad to hear from you! It sure is fun to play a Strat, isn't it? Thank you for your time and kind words.

  45. This is a really good song. Nice vocal work, also. Really enjoyed listening to it. The one element that didn't really grab me was the drum sound, in particular the snare - a little too thin and kind of anemic, or something. That's just a personal matter of taste, though. Rob
