I mean, technically you can find the WAV files for any loop you drag in your Song inside the Cache folder [Your Studio One Song]\Cache\Audio For example: D:\Studio One\Songs\TestSong\Cache\Audio\@@0@@192000@@x09E38ABA07 Upright Bass UB1 07 - 90 BPM - G.audioloop396C0_10000_3415_108_0.wav And get it from there.4 points

Will this warn me if I am falling under the spell of GAS? Perhaps a loud, annoying fog horn sound if I spend too long looking at a certain ad or review?3 points

It's not a question of old school or new school. I used Cakewalk for many years reading manuals and mixing hundred of projects. I've found myself using every way to do things, literally everything to achieve the result I like. Sometime the result is by chance. Other times after exploring new way to make things the result also satisfies me. There is no rule. Explore and find what you like.2 points

Will this device keep my bass player from unsafely 'spacing out'? - remembering a gig where our bass player took a hit off of a smoking pipe that someone stuck in his face in the middle of a song and for the next 12 bars he was off key, off tempo, off planet...2 points

I'm calling this one Minimalistic as I've removed a number of the visual elements I consider distracting visually (words Pan, Gain, FX, Sends, on the Console View and The small track icon in the Tracks View) Now updated for 2021.12 (see the pro version in post 2 for an updated version):1 point

Sound Aesthetics Sampling (makers of Mountains, Resona, Talua, Autumn Choirs, etc) is releasing a new synth for full Kontakt, FRAGMENTS. It's up on their SITE now. From their copy: Fragments is a free virtual instrument for Kontakt with various Organic Synth sounds, that have been created using various Synthesizers. Most of the sounds have movement within themselves so most of the time tune/pan/volume drift to achieve that fragile tone we're looking for. Also they are all multisampled (except the bonus sounds), which gives you even more variation. In addition to that the engine carries a round robin/variation system to get very organic results. Last but not least does it of course include some cool shaping tools like some deep effects, movement and gate and of course drift for that extra fragileness The product will be listed with a price of $15 in the shop but you can enter three different Coupon codes (FRAGMENTS_FREE, FRAGMENTS_5, FRAGMENTS_10) to get it for free/$5/$10 depending on what you want to give and just to clarify. We won't track if you pay something or not, it's just because some people are willing to and this makes it a lot easier for us to work with. I hope this sounds fair to everyone While you're at it, they have a freebie called Consona and have introduced another new product, Paradise Lost Redux, which is only $9.99 until 5/23. I have the four instruments listed above and they are all beautiful. I had no idea they have been adding so many more. I'll be paying attention the next time there is a sale. They often offer amazing deals and when I hear about the next one, I'll post it here, if Larry doesn't get to it before me. 😄1 point

"Mercy Mercy Me (The Ecology) - Marvin Gaye Jamerson on bass - so drunk he literally couldn't stand. Played a bass concerto laying on his back that many players couldn't pull off standing up and sober.1 point

Cool! I think you might look at reverb spaces. The bassoon is in a small room? But there is a little hall reverb on the strings? You might kill all the reverbs on the Kontakt instruments, and feed all the instruments into a thumping great concert hall with a small amount of predelay. If you haven't done that already? Or, something else entirely! It's a pleasant meander, and I found myself pleasantly adrift. Until the ending, which needs a warning sign "Bridge Out Ahead" cheers, -Tom1 point

Given the age of the computer, at least 6 years any serious issues and I would consider a replacement but I don't want to do that just yet. The good news is the disc image completed without problems and everything is working ok for now.1 point

Excellent strategy. EVERY DAW user should rely on system backups. I suggest doing them fairly often. I do a system backup image about once a month or just before a major software change or update. In the past 20 years or so I've been using system backups, I've never been more than 10-20 minutes away from a working system (regardless of the software glitch)... I'm constantly amazed when I find out a longtime DAW user uses no system backup at all - the equivalent of operating without a safety net. (I guess they enjoy occasionally spending hours troubleshooting only to give up in frustration then spend a week reinstalling/activating all of their software).1 point

Hehe, I hear you! I'll give it a try! But the more I think about an indicator that tracks are filtered, the more I like the idea. It reminds me a bit of Excel - if you have filtered a column, the text "Filtered" appears in the bottom status bar to remind you that you are not looking at the full spreadsheet. I think it's a fitting analogy - in Cakewalk you are kind of "filtering" the track view. 🤓1 point

Good job Bjorn - you should do some more of this type of composing- it sounded quite good to my ears.1 point

GK Amplification by Audiffied is a great Gallien-Krueger bass amp sim. There is a free version along with a pro version that is rather affordable. I used the free for a long time and was so impressed I invested in the pay version. It still finds its way into my projects to this day.1 point

I don't think I've heard you play acoustic before. I'd pick the acoustic version if I had to choose a favorite mainly because it sounds a bit different from the Kirby style I'm used to. Not sure what that means really but it's a good thing.1 point

It'd be real handy if the Plug-In Manager could use the power of the computer brain to indicate which plug-ins in the "Registered Plug-ins" list appear (or fail to appear, either works) somewhere in the heirarchy of folders in the "menu layout" list. Rather than rely on error-prone humans to carefully eyeball the two lists. When organizing dozens, scores, or hundreds of VSTs into one or more folder structures that makes sense, some feedback on which ones you might have missed (or listed multiple times, which may or may not be an error according to your personal filing system) would be most helpful.1 point

Haha! Yeah, I used the melody from "Put Your Head on My Shoulder" and the main theme from "Rebel Without a Cause" to follow the poet's references to these. Same with the reference to The Rite of Spring.... Thanks for listening!1 point

Very cool, Mark. I'm always impressed with what blossoms to be the intelligence here. I'll erase my comment, knowing that you just tilted a bit to the pedantic!1 point

You do Beatles songs as well as anyone I've heard in years. You keep it recognizable, yet you own the song by making it unique. A+1 point

Occasionally Windows updates don't update properly. I found this with the most recent update, which was causing my system to occasionally BSOD on reboot. What I normally do is run a cmd window as admin and run a system file check: More info on what this does : https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-update/system-file-check-sfc-scan-and-repair-system-files/bc609315-da1f-4775-812c-695b60477a931 point

I agree with this sentiment. I can confirm that making a screenset for Console view at full screen works and then getting into the habit of choosing that screenset by number instead of ALT-C for console is a workaround. You need to then copy your screensets into every project or have them in your templates. That's easy enough. I'm not sure how the "remembering" works there with multiple screens because I don't currently have that setup. But I agree that having the option to default to a separate window (with remembered size and location) instead of always opening in the partial view Multi-dock would be very desired.1 point

The only reason I don't support this is because building proper cross platform software is a real pain in the ***** to do right. A lot of companies will build the core code on one platform and then hire out another company to do same janky crap port and it never works the same across both, unless simultaneous development is done. This is the key difference. Simultaneous dev, not porting. This late in the game, all you're going to get on Mac is a crappy port and no one wants that. The loyal PC members don't want dev cycles taken from bettering the existing PC platform, and Mac users don't want an under-performing buggy port. No one wins. I get where you're coming from. I just think it'd be a mistake at this point. And Mac people already have GREAT DAW options at their disposal.1 point
