  2. We created this for ourselves so we could reopen and make sure we were following the requirements of distancing. We are the main use case for it and knew that it would be useful for other companies (definitely many - probably most - outside of the music industry). The price may seem steep if you are thinking it is made for home use but one look at https://www.safespacer.net and you can see for whom this is for.

  3. One thing for sure...people are Chicken SH*T, considering that this virus has a 99.9% Survival rate... MORE THAN TWICE that of the "common influenza", which kills far more people, but we never really hear about it, because it's "common", not NEW, and the Media can't turn THAT into a "Fear Machine" to force the masses into compliance...like sheep to the slaughter

  8. Sad part of all this to me is the people refusing to wear a mask. If both parties where a mask and one has the virus, the chance of giving it to others is under 2%. What is so hard about doing your part to help health-care workers cope with this outbreak and protect people around you! We personally know 4 people who have got it. 2 survived and 2 didn't. The 2 that survived had it pretty bad but they didn't need to me ventilated. The other two that need to be didn't make it. I think one will have long-term health issues. Might only be a few percentage that get it bad but how would like to be the one that brings it home to your family. You only have mild case but by time you know you passed it along to your spouse and kids or parents. A little precaution for the loved ones around you. Sorry about my Soap-box here. My wife is a Nurse and has seen first hand what this virus can do . Sad to both of us is the leadership in this country. I'm talking all of them that they can't stop the bickering and actually do the job they were voted in office to do.

  10. Sound Aesthetics Sampling (makers of Mountains, Resona, Talua, Autumn Choirs, etc) is releasing a new synth for full Kontakt, FRAGMENTS. It's up on their SITE now. From their copy: Fragments is a free virtual instrument for Kontakt with various Organic Synth sounds, that have been created using various Synthesizers. Most of the sounds have movement within themselves so most of the time tune/pan/volume drift to achieve that fragile tone we're looking for. Also they are all multisampled (except the bonus sounds), which gives you even more variation. In addition to that the engine carries a round robin/variation system to get very organic results. Last but not least does it of course include some cool shaping tools like some deep effects, movement and gate and of course drift for that extra fragileness The product will be listed with a price of $15 in the shop but you can enter three different Coupon codes (FRAGMENTS_FREE, FRAGMENTS_5, FRAGMENTS_10) to get it for free/$5/$10 depending on what you want to give and just to clarify. We won't track if you pay something or not, it's just because some people are willing to and this makes it a lot easier for us to work with. I hope this sounds fair to everyone While you're at it, they have a freebie called Consona and have introduced another new product, Paradise Lost Redux, which is only $9.99 until 5/23. I have the four instruments listed above and they are all beautiful. I had no idea they have been adding so many more. I'll be paying attention the next time there is a sale. They often offer amazing deals and when I hear about the next one, I'll post it here, if Larry doesn't get to it before me. 😄

For me, Kontakt is the most essential piece of kit a modern musician/producer should have. It' more essential than a DAW.

  25. Dirk posted on FB- "We announced earlier today that the new AMEK EQ200 would not be available separately upon its launch on May 19. We had lately indeed planned to make this high-end plugin available via our cost-effective rental bundles only. BUT... some users on facebook have made me aware of the fact that we had sent out promotional emails earlier this month already, with a $25 voucher, and the promise to let you buy the new May releases (incl. the AMEK) using your voucher. Now, we may be crazy sometimes, but we will always do our best to honor our promises to you, so I took the decision right now to launch the AMEK EQ200 on May 19 exactly the way you are used to with all our launches. The EQ200 will be available in our MIX & MASTER and the MEGA bundles, but you will be able to buy a perpetual license as well."

If you wait for Black Friday or the NI 50% off deal that happens once or twice a year, you can get in pretty cheap. The 30~40 gig library and the ridiculous amount of free stuff available for Kontakt makes it well worth it. https://bedroomproducersblog.com/2020/04/27/free-kontakt-libraries/

Also , reports are starting to come that a lot of death have been labeled under covid cause , under authorities pressure ...people have to be scared to death (literraly) to accept what's going on ....we have crazy laws here that have nothing to do with covid , from internet censure without having to justify to a judge to doctor paid to give infos on their patient to the gov (skipping the hyppocrat serment) , but proof are connection between insurance and states heads , they want full infos on citizens , for full control.

  29. From USA Today: A 99% survival rate might sound promising. But when it’s scaled out to the rest of the country – all 329 million residents – a 1% survival rate takes on a different meaning. The attending physician for Congress and the U.S. Supreme Court predicted early in the pandemic that 70 million to 150 million U.S. residents would contract COVID-19. A 1% mortality rate at that scale of infection is between 700,000 and 1.5 million dead – roughly the population of Washington, D.C., on the low end or the entire population of Hawaii on the high end.

  34. Hello Everyone , I was watching a YouTube channel about chord progressions, which led me to the website Popular Progressions. I play the Bass Guitar, so when I am trying to create a song, it's hard for me to get the right chords unless I have someone come over and play my keyboard to the sounds I hum to them, yes, I do that. This is a good pack of Chord progressions. There are 90 in a pack and you can use them as .wav or .midi files to apply to any virtual instrument. The cost is only $22.00 and you will have to use PayPal if you decide to purchase, so click the PayPal button after clicking Check Out. The Owner told me that his website payment system is declining credit cards. This is what happened to me; until I wrote, the owner and he told me what to do. There is no need to sign into PayPal and after the $22.00 payment was processed, I received my download about 15 seconds later and an email confirmation. These are great chord progressions.

  37. Pragi, you, Wibbles, Craig and others have all introduced me to songs and artists I never would have heard before. I'm really enjoying that. I've even gone and purchased some and added it to my digital Walkman. I've played rock/pop for a living all my life. I played classical in school and jazz in the extra-curricular jazz band after school. Rock on the weekends for money and chicks. My mom liked Broadway and my dad was really fond of Big Band Jazz and pre-Nashville era country (Eddie Arnold, Jim Reeves, etc.). After high school I got in a road band and the other musicians introduced me to blues (Bobby Bland, Robert Johnson, etc.) and I used to go to record/CD stores and pick out things from racks I was not familiar with like Klezmer. When I took a job on a cruise ship for 3 years I learned about Salsa, Ska, Soca and Reggae from the musicians who play those forms of music. There is so much out there I can't be confined to one type. I like playing different styles too, but to make a living, I play what the public wants to hear - and I like that as well. I prefer Classical from Beethoven to the present, but not all of it, mostly the dark, brooding, exciting kind. What I like about it is on the thousandth listening I can still hear a variation of a motif or a combination of one or more others that I never heard before. I can't memorize every instrument part from start to finish like I can on more pop/rock/country/blues tracks. On the other hand, my digital-walkman still has Muddy Waters, Zeppelin, Elvis, Andrews Sisters, Lyle Lovett, and the top 40 songs I grew up with on it. Here is one from my youth. Vanilla Fudge doing a take on an even older Motown song. Hearing this again is like visiting an old friend You Keep Me Hanging On - Vanilla Fudge

  41. I've got to admit, I'm pretty old-school in my approach. When tracking, I try to record the sound exactly as I want it to be heard, which means recording it with compression + EQ etc already applied. The only exception to this is guitar, where I record both the dry and the effected signal. Vocals also tend to be recorded dry. With mixing, any edits are destructive. If I'm getting rid of bleed or rumbles in silence, I'll permanently remove it. Same with any pitch or timing correction. My reasoning being that if it sounded bad enough to need to be edited, then there's no way I'd want to keep the original... though if it's someone else's performance, I'll just keep a backup of the original files. In saying that, I'm much more likely to re-record a bad take than resort to editing. The end result is a much simpler session to work with, less plugins/automation, and much less strain on my CPU. With Cakewalk though, you can effectively do both by archiving / hiding the original tracks and work with copies.

  43. Just received mine last evening ( two days late because the FedEx driver delivered to the wrong address, luckily the driver corrected the problem after I wrote a semi-nasty letter.) Hooked them up this morning and I'm impressed. I'm coming from a pair of Behringer 5" MS40's though. The bass is a lot clearer and the mixes seem less muddy. These are a little overkill for my space too but I could not pass the price up and I'm set for the future when I get more room. Thanks for turning me on to the deal Larry

  44. Thank you for the informative comment among all the noise of bad jokes (of which I'm guilty too) and branch conversations I paid with a visa card (virtual single-purpose number) instead of paypal and it worked without a hiccup. The site uses sendowl, the same payment processor as Audio Assault. In summary, this is a "no frills" and relatively small (for the price) loops&midis collection, but sometimes simple is good.

  45. What a great resource! There are also these two ongoing threads in the Instruments and Effects subforum, they're both on the first page right now. I've lobbied for stickiedom, nothing yet, so they rely on bumps. Between them over 11,000 views so I hope they've been helpful. They're a tiny bit different from this 400 list, as everything in them is vetted by someone who's used them with Cakewalk so we know they're compatible on at least one user's system!:

  47. I forgot to add, I picked these up. They do sound really good. And I don't have somebody to sit with and say , "No, not that one. No, not that one either...." So it is really easy for me to try these out to get inspiration from. Now the transaction did not go well. I used PayPal as Jesse suggested (as I always do), but was told (by an error window) the seller declined that payment option. So I wrote to him to let him know he was missing sales (like Jesse did). Next thing I know he is sending me a link to the stuff for free to make up for the trouble I went through. Told him it was no trouble and I would gladly pay him for it. But he said nope, it was all good. So he did me right. I really don't think he's out to jack anybody. I really think he's just trying to help out fellow musicians.
