  1. Emin to Amaj, there and back again x infinity. Moderate tempo. Garage band staple. The drummer drifts and slows down, annoying the keyboard player. The bass player is someone's nerdy friend, just picked it up last week. The guitar player is the boss but plays WAAAAAY TOOOOO LOUDDDD because he is going deaf. None of them can sing, much less sing and play at the same time. Somebody's sister knows a hot chick. She can't sing, either, but her hotness keeps the band together for two more weeks until she picks the drummer, who leaves the following week and that's when they all look at each other and realize it's time to read the next post.

  2. Golden Age Project EQ-81 MKII Half Rack EQ 2 of them arrive on Friday. My new hardware bass recording chain will be: LA-610 -> EQ 81 -> KT 2A (LA-2A clone) -> 76 KT (1176 clone) - all patch in bay so I can reconfig easily and of course I have two sets of that chain so my Alembic and Rick, which have individual outs for the bridge and neck pups, can be recorded with the utmost of options in the mix.

  5. Absolutely agree with this recommendation. It is really worth adding those weird freebies samples you got with magazines, etc. as they are really fun to play with creatively - 8-bit trash, vocals, thunder, traffic, etc. XO groups them in interesting and creative ways.

  8. Doubtful. I have never WUPPed myself, but have been eventually "upgrading" all along. It's been rocky for sure. But I must say, the latest version of the Waves Central now includes a bunch of the "helper" apps and fixes for legacy versions. So (knocks on wood) it has been going pretty well lately. Not sure when I last bought a Waves plugin though, but I have been grabbing their freebies...

  9. FWIW, The Omni Channel is actually a very good tool for problem solving. ie: The De-Essers are amazing at reducing acoustic guitar squeaks. I don't even use it for the EQ/Dynamics... 😁

  10. To import midifiles to Ripchord they have to be midi type 0. I have successfully imported midi type 0 with up to 3 tracks in them. To see what type it is. - Open the mediabrowser and go to your midifiles. - Highlight a midifile and look at the bottom of the mediabrowser window. In its frame is some info about the file. With midifiles you will see the type and number of tracks in it. Most of your midifiles probably is of type 1 so you have to convert to type 0. The quickest and easiest must be this little converter i found. http://www.jososoft.dk/yamaha/software/midiformat/index.htm It install fine on win7 and 8. Probably also on win10 because it was updated this year. It's 32-bit but works fine and fast. I browsed to a folder with 40 midifiles type 1. Told it to put the converted file to the source folder and add a zero to the filename. The whole folder was done within a second. This is a page with free midi chord progressions you then could import to ripchord. https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:MIDI_files_of_chord_progressions ADDED May28: Info from user Michael A.D. You are not limited to one keypress. So you might set up basic chords that one finger plays and upper extensions that another finger could play. RipChord is also great fun feeding into Chord Potion. PS. Did you know that someone collected all midifiles before Geocities was shut down? 51000 midifiles. https://archive.org/details/archiveteam-geocities-midi-collection-2009

  11. Hello Everyone , I was watching a YouTube channel about chord progressions, which led me to the website Popular Progressions. I play the Bass Guitar, so when I am trying to create a song, it's hard for me to get the right chords unless I have someone come over and play my keyboard to the sounds I hum to them, yes, I do that. This is a good pack of Chord progressions. There are 90 in a pack and you can use them as .wav or .midi files to apply to any virtual instrument. The cost is only $22.00 and you will have to use PayPal if you decide to purchase, so click the PayPal button after clicking Check Out. The Owner told me that his website payment system is declining credit cards. This is what happened to me; until I wrote, the owner and he told me what to do. There is no need to sign into PayPal and after the $22.00 payment was processed, I received my download about 15 seconds later and an email confirmation. These are great chord progressions.

  13. Tonal Balance Control 2.2.0 is now up in my Product Portal. However, the download doesn't want to seem to start. Yet. Usually the next day after a release, the product portal downloads it just fine. Cheers! I should have waited about 20 seconds before posting this! The portal started the download, and TBC2.2.0 is now installed. Let's see what this is all about!

  18. I really like XO and it's a fun instrument to just play around with. If you'd like to add more samples, check out https://samplesfrommars.com/products/all-products-from-mars?variant=376105238534 I have their everything bundle (around 45GB) and got it for under $15 IIRC. My drum sample folder is about 55GB, so there's enough there to keep me busy for sometime.

  19. I paid $82.32! I really rate XO but XLN needs to push it into the market much more aggressively. XLN needs an even more stripped down, even cheaper version, maybe even free, with the ability to step up to the full version without much in the way of financial penalty. XLN should also be making money selling sample and midi packs. It is superb creative tool with lots of samples. Those C64 sounds that ZincT and msmcleod were talking about in the Roland thread are great in this. I've gone a bit mad with samples - I now have 279,181 samples indexed in XO.

  25. You're right. I ran some tests. A Type 0 file with multiple channels does auto-split. But a Type 1 file with multiple channels on a single track doesn't and as a result needs something to split it. I guess you could also create something like this naturally in Cakewalk where a single track has notes on multiple channels. When you get that mixed channels on a single MIDI track the only way I've ever seen to split it is with a CAL script.

  27. If there ever was a heavy metal symphony this is it. Prokofiev himself described it as 'iron and steel.' It's not subtle, it attacks and affronts the listener, the dissonances are grating, and it's the closed 'classical' thing I know of to heavy metal. It was interesting at first and the more I listened to it, the more I liked it. Symphony #2 in D minor - Sergey Prokofiev - Neeme Jarvi conducting the Royal Scottish Orchestra

  28. I know this is an unpopular opinion, but the bakers have been listening to me lately, so I'll give a try. I hate the multi-dock. Like "Hate" hate it. Hated it in X1. X2. X3. Splat. And still hate it in CbB. Every time anything launches in it (Vvocal, Melodyne, PRV, Console View), every single time, I drag it out to my second monitor and work from there. I pretty much NEVER want anything blocking my track view on monitor 1. Cakewalk doesn't remember this. Or if it does, it doesn't remember that the window (IE: Console View) was maximized. It launches Console View with 20% of the monitor height filled. Super annoying. So if there were an option to just disable it, that would make me pretty excited. Thank you bakers!

  29. Hmmm, I highlight what to quote and hit the quote button and it open post box to type reply in but there is nothing quoted in the box, not even what I highlighted to quote. I'm using Firefox, maybe it's the browser. I haven't been active much in here in so long, I can't remember where to look for my @username. Is it listed in my profile or maybe settings? I looked but not seeing it. Hey, that's a nice mixture of midi and real instruments, and your skill level at playing them is really good! Here is a song I uploaded recently using Distrokid, all instrumental called Sunset, let me know what you think. I think I mainly used patches / instruments from Komplete 12, the drums are a free vst, but I can't think of the name right now. Have a listen:

  30. They've recently moved Ark 1 away from Kontakt and made it available to their SINE player, with an intro price of €399 (Kontakt Version works on the Player and is also on sale, but it looks like they're moving away from it so will not be updated any longer). Anyone already with Ark 1 is eligible to upgrade to the SINE Version for free. Ends 31st May 2020. https://www.orchestraltools.com/store/collections/39?fbclid=IwAR0b0tROoK_MYALT5XZ2b4kRFouNvVy5QSHk8nAtA7YwfDPjB6Gu-_SaUBY

  35. HI:) Thank you all for your answers! So for other people Colors and Flashing for 1 Knob with Controller 65 assigned! B0 00 00 is "that easy" Send Controller 0 with Data 0. So for Reset Launch Control just send Controller 0 with Data 0 for resetting User Preset 1. For other User presets it is Controller 1-7, for Factory Presets Controller 8-15. Switch to Preset 1 is Controller 1 Data 0. The embarassing thing is that I bought this book in 1989: And I can remember that I studied it. It stands a few feet away from my PC at home😂 It's not funny getting old! So here the Colors and Flashing for Novation Launch Control with Controllers instead of Sysx. Maybe it helps some other:) Bassman.

  37. Use the UNDUPE CAL script. Works most times for me. PS did you make the double notes or did the midi file come that way? If you getting double notes it's often because your getting a loopback. Make sure to uncheck the enable midi output from the synth properties, Or simply disable all midi out in midi options.

  40. You know Windows 10 will run forever unactivated, and can be downloaded for free, right? Only drawback is a nag message on the desktop and inability to change wallpaper. Given the popularity of Linux you describe, how do you explain the consistent <2% of the market share that it continues to enjoy in the desktop market? "It wont be implausible to say that Linux is going to gain millions of new users in China"...if it hasn't happened over the last 25 years, what impending event is going to drive a change in adoption? Much stronger case for a Mac port, but I would rather them stay the course in the Windows world. The product is stable and very functional, and I expect it to only improve.

  42. Here is a "PRO" version of my Theme. This version removes words like "pro channel" and "in/out" from the console view as this assumes you already know where and what they are. This also removes the word "performance" from the performance module. Like the other minimalistic theme, FX Bin, Sends, Pan, and Gain words are also removed. While the location and knobs remain intact. Tones and colors are generally subtle other than "solo" and "armed for recording" as I find these should be flags as I work. The faders are also a stand out, because if you mix with the pro-channel open, you can see they cross over into the "row of faders" you would normally see on an analog console, therefore I want them to be noticeable and not blend in. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1jIikZxT88PjAwsiUj-XfuwQaQwZGClE2/view?usp=sharing (updated for 2021.12 - linked corrected Feb 2022)
