  4. Many of the Amplesound Basses can do what this does. They don't quite have a song builder and it's not quite so intuitive because of that, but the patterns are drag and drop where you can easily build a song on the track with the included patterns and edit as you please. The advantage to this is a single Plugin, which will inevitably have "Bass Packs" that you can purchase for different Basses, rather than a host that has to load the instrument every time you want to change bass types, and the song builder, which is common now with SD3, and EZD2....and it will definitely be worth the asking price!

  6. Looks very promising. Might be the best software bass instrument to ever hit the market. Wonder if they have EZBrass and EZStrings in the pipeline.

  9. I couldn't get the subscribe option on the page with the free instruments to work. But if you go to the main product page https://www.analogueinstruments.com and scroll all the way down, that subscribe option did work for me.

  11. I'm curious as well. Have been beta testing it for a while now myself and look forward to the actual release (honestly wish it was sooner, since my understanding it is ready...they are just trying to time the release) I believe they said the upgrade cost shoudl be "reasonable" will have to see if they have the same definition I do. 😁

  12. Totally agree I remember I asked XLN few years ago to provide functionality for AD2 to read audio and generate matched groove for accents. This is direction I am always after Be able to avoid hard and tedious work with preparation tracks for instruments I cannot play at decent quality and get it generated by program Another instruments would be very, very welcome So in 2040 all musicians replaced by AI and in 2050 all audience replaced by AI

  17. Here here, the poor fellow has and does cop a lot a flac both here and at other places like KVR among others, and in the vast majority of cases handles himself very well, and those few occasions where he might apply a little to much acceleration and break traction, well you can hardly blame him.

  18. I can say this much, Peter is a true member of the forum. He has helped many in his capacity as a IK rep. But to say he is a Troll is unfounded.

  19. I have been in the creative doldrums, even before lock-down began, so I was pleased when this piece came together. Hopefully I can divert my attentions to my main project now.

  22. We all know that if we wait a really long time there will be deals on EZBass. They'll throw in another bass or a MIDI pack for the price of admission. But this is so special that I doubt a lot of people will wait. And I wonder how long it will take for them to start spitting out Bass MIDI packs and more basses. An acoustic bass would be nice... to go with whatever jazz packs they put out. I'm getting way ahead of myself. Looks like I've already decided to buy it. 🤔

  25. Because I'm not a leyboard player I've been relying on EZKeys for that. Being a bass play (of some sorts) I see this as an inspirational tool that I can use to then recreate a more (or less) intricate on one of my basses. I'm a VST/VSTi 'ho (as many of you are aware) and so I'll get this and any expansions they heave including more MIDI (after market is 'where it's at', to quote Beck)

  26. When I first saw Melodyne many, many years ago I used the expression “jaw dropping”. I think this might be in the same category. It’ll be a game changer for many. The price is actually lower than I thought it might be, considering there is nothing like this.

  27. £135.00 UK, worth every penny for those of us with limited bass guitar abilities and lack of reliable bass players around :).

  28. bit off topic but I'm the same as you - a guitarist BUT try NI picked acoustic......not AI as such but amazing fun

  29. I think they have made the best bass VI on the market, and probably ever. In some ways it works like a much more advanced version of the bass module in Orb Producer Suite. I want it, but for me one of the most fun parts of making music is creating my own bass parts. I do't know if it wouldn't just be easier for me to play the bass part in myself. But there's something to be said for getting it started with this and then customizing it. Sure would save a lot of time. To put it simply, I have never been a drummer, so I need drum apps. I play piano pretty well, so I don't really need EZKeys, and have stopped buying expansions. But guitar is my main instrument in life, and yet I own a zillion guitar virtual instruments. Maybe I will be relying more and more on bass libraries like this, even though I have played bass in bands. But I would always like to choose the bass sound. The ujam bass is a totally different thing. Much better for jamming in my book. Instant, quick and dirty, very satisfying results. (Makes sense, the company is called ujam). But this is head and shoulders above that for creating final bass parts for your tracks. Does anybody know if this is like EZKeys and the MIDI can be used by any virtual instrument you own? It would be nice to use all my favorite bass libraries.

  30. Same full retail price as EZKeys and EZDrummer 2. Right now EZDrummer is 33% off, which I think is normal for Toontrack. Good chance if you are willing to wait you should be able to pick this up for $120ish. Less if you can order in GBP and have VAT removed. For SD3's release Toontrack forced Time&Space to stop selling to US customers in non-US funds to avoid that currency discount. But I don't think they are doing that any more, may have just been for the SD3 roll out.

  32. In Sonar, importing a midi file doesn't import tempo and key signatures and the like. The project has all that information. 😀 You must use File -> Open. This imports all the tempo, time signature info, etc. with the midi data Then you can either save as a project or, if you already have a project where you need it, you need to copy special all the midi data and paste special all into your project.

  34. While I am a fan, a boy (so my wife says), and also have more audio tools than I need or use, I think we are all wise enough to know that Peter is paid to be both patient and productive and that he does it well. But we also know IK's MO when it comes to doing business - not saying it's bad but consistent which can be both rewarding and frustrating. I thought I was going to go for this deal even though I would only benefit of a couple of plugs but also gain an upgrade path & benefit. I was thinking I could MAXgrade to it since I have Amplitude MAX only to find out that I am not eligible because I got it free in one of their own promotions. Makes me wonder about those who won one in a contest as well. We can debate motives and practices but at the end of the day it's their model and they is who they is. Great product but very frustrating purchasing environment (IK might say ingenious ).

  37. I was happy after reading Peters reply to my concern as to my silly little post perhaps being taken to mean something that wasn't intended . . . then I read your post 😁 I can see how you could come to that thinking, and it wouldn't take a lot of over thinking either 😐 I'm just glad I aired my concern that I had a feeling things may have been taken in an unintended direction.

  40. @Grem, @Fwrend, @Marc Cormier, etc. Some 20 years ago I stopped being active on a few forums, after thousands of posts and serving as admin on some of them. Apart from becoming too busy for them, I never got to accept/like what they did to so many of their members: grant them a flawed sense of entitlement by virtue of group identity, in what often came across as a twisted popularity contest. Not much has changed. To you, Peter might be a great guy. To you, he’s not a troll. Perfect, no one is trying to convince you otherwise. On the flip side, this matters little me; I drew my own conclusions from my own experience with him. What you think of it is equally irrelevant. Again, this is not a popularity contest. May the Lord protect all of you from the “aggressive misinformation” I was clouding your judgement with, and shower your DAW with IK Multimedia’s plugins. 🙂

  41. The icon used for Mr. Ed made me think he was alluding to fitz being an ***** but then I was like wait, Mr. Ed's a horse - a talking horse! Oh well, we've all been on both sides of the fence but I am impressed even as a "rep," Pete has professionally maintained patience and remained helpful through it all.

  42. I'm sorry I am laughing so it worked. I took it as lighthearted and somewhat absurdist and love it. I don't think you are accusing me of being a horse (a horse, of course of course). I just liked the theme and ran with it. But wait, does that now make me the horse's *****? Dang it! (seriously, I'm taking these shots at my own expense not implying you think this so we're all good). Also, I'm currently confused quite a lot more than usual but I'm clearly just enjoying your post to the max and probably beating a dead horse with the references. OK that was the last one. I promise.

  45. Even though I haven't benefited directly, Peter's been more helpful to a handful of folks on this forum with one post than all 7 of yours. I'm saying that as an IK customer that is not at all happy with them for other reasons but your posturing is totally whack.

  46. I guess because if you are using more than one ruler format at once, the ruler (and therefore the aim assist information) will be wider than the space available above the ruler. Your idea is not bad, but just would work fine if you use only one ruler format.
