  3. Thanks to help from @Jean-Philippe ROGER via a remote session, we were able to fix this issue. The root problem was this: Arrangement does not preview properly when "Set Now Time With Full Restart" enabled in Track View options. A fix has been implemented for the next release.

  6. On sale right now for 109 Euros...cheaper if you have an Acustica Customer Discount code...BUY IT! I just pulled the Demo on this and HOLY MOLY! IMO, it's THE BEST I've ever heard!!! Yes it's a bit CPU heavy, and the GUI is bit unintuitive, but I've never, ever, heard a better Tape Simulation ITB, the Console EQ's are great, and the compressors are very nice....it's actually 21 Tape Emulations, 3 Consoles, and 2 Compressors, and ALL can be used separately or in a Channel Rack, and it's a STEAL at this price https://www.acustica-audio.com/store/products/taupe

  9. For the record Windows 7 is end of life and we do not have the resources to test or develop custom workarounds or hacks to keep CbB working on Win 7 anymore. Though we try to remain basically compatible, problems like this will continue to happen because nobody is testing it anymore. That said, if there is something fundamentally broken and we can find a cause we do try and address it when possible.

  10. @Peter Stiens Indeed. I found the source of the problem yesterday and we have a fix. Its quite a bad longstanding bug related to applying workspaces (or screensets) referencing views to an empty project. In your case the workspace referenced the step sequencer view. Since a blank project cannot have a step sequencer this was running into an issue when loading the workspace and crashing. This is already fixed for the next release but to work around your crash just remove the step sequencer from your custom workspace for the time being and it should resolve the issue. Thanks for reporting this!

  14. Don't know about going on sale, but there is a 'frequency' discount that is applied to purchases at some point along your journey (can't recall. it may kick in after your first purchase) it's not a huge discount, but it is welcome none the less, if memory serves me correct if you purchased a pack that cost $29, you would get $7 or $8 off, something like that. So far I own them all, for me Redwirez and Ownhammer are all I need, and sound the best.

  15. Have you considered getting this bundle? https://www.ownhammer.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=192_193&products_id=449 The intro price was ~$20. That's all I know about OH sales.

  17. Probably what many don't like is the paid .5 Releases... I don't know of any other DAW that charges for that... I, personally, don't mind...it's small enough pricewise, and you really don't have to do .5 releases...just wait the 2 year cycle till the next release. I'll only do the .5 release if it's on sale....

  18. Well I just got through installing Nebula on my new Music PC. I remember buying it on sale based on what Larry had said about it. But I had never used it. Well I figured I try it out today and was really surprised at what this thing can do! Nice plugin. So I went to the website and looked around and saw all these 5 for $5 signs on the plugins. So I load 5 of them up and sure enough, I was able to get them all for little over $6. So I went back and got the Union synth and all the sound packs with it. Then I said, I bet the Deal crowd would like to know about this one. But before I posted I did look around. And sure enough Larry already posted something about it. : ) Well for anyone interested, they have Nebula as part of the 5 for $5 sale. The Chorus on that thing is worth the $5 all by itself. Fantastic Chorus. and then you get three other fx in Nebula, along with four other plugins for the little over $6. Is this no-brainer territory? Yes I do believe!

  21. Use a drum map or create a step sequencer template. A step sequencer template is an empty step sequencer pattern step up as desired. After adding the synth, set the output of the MIDI track to the drum map to configure the step sequencer. When using an instrument track, the drum map assignment is made in the MIDI tab of the track's inspector. Without a drum map loading a step sequencer template performs the same task but must be loaded for each instance of the sequencer. IOW, a drum map is a per track setting, a step sequencer template is a per-sequencer setting.

  22. Not an endorcement of any of these, but yes, I do believe others are creating IRs already. https://www.ownhammer.com/store/ https://lancasteraudio.com/wgs-impulse-responses-warehouse-guitar-speakers/ https://www.cabir.eu/en/ As for other AMP modelers using specific Speakers/Cabs I'd say yes https://www.strymon.net/products/iridium/

  23. For the smallest fraction of a second I thought it was a real cab for free. Any way, glad to see people modeling speaker cabs with specific speakers. I have spent a good amount of time building cabinets and trying speakers lately. I haven't been using Amplitube lately cuz Marshal 1X12 as an option wasn't cutting it for me. Are any of the others guitar amp modelers modeling specific speakers? I have some IR's from Celestion but that's about it. Pine cabs, birch plywood, open back, closed back and specific speakers has to be the future for modelers. I wonder how far out.

  24. It's a pretty big file Mesh...I bought it this morning and COULD NOT AFFORD IT AT ALL! I put myself in BIG trouble...but WOW!!! I'll figure something out...LOL My justification was that it would push my Discount Coupons up....to what I don't know, but I only get 15% right now...don't know what the next level is...but this purchased pushed my spending total to the next level... Total price was $105. SUPER DUPER WORTH IT! I've bought (and sold) a LOT of plugins...this one takes the cake IMO! I had heard it was good...I just didn't realize HOW GOOD!

  28. i think the hub thingy is their version of the bandlab assistant, for using the plugs in non-so daws (i assume it, or similar, is built into so as it does the whole online check thing when launching), or izotope's thingy, or arturia's thingy, or ni's thingy... everything is going the way of thingies
    2 points
  29. You do need the PreSonus Hub thingy to use their plugins in other DAW's though I believe (I think its free), and you would require Fat Channel XT to begin with before you can get the extra EQ's and Comps. I only use Studio One, I got the whole Fat Channel collection, they are all very good quality plugs. Personally I haven't bothered downloading and installing the Hub thingy, going to stay away from it as long as possible, hope it doesn't become necessary, I don't need to use any of the PreSonus plugins in another DAW because I only use Studio One so I haven't needed it thus far.

This probably hasn't been posted for a while but here are some free(ish) sources for SFX samples https://www.adobe.com/uk/products/audition/free-sound-effects.html (actually looks like that link is dead...but fear not....) https://offers.adobe.com/en/na/audition/offers/audition_dlc/AdobeAuditionDLCSFX.html - described as "royalty-free audio sound effects." think there is about 15 gig plus the BBC sfx library (not strictly speaking free but ok for personal use) http://bbcsfx.acropolis.org.uk/

  36. Hello Matthew, We fixed a bug about this in the latest version 1.1.2. However, if you reload an old project, you might still have the issue. Can you please confirm if you still have the issue if you start a project from scratch with our 1.1.2 version? Cheers 😉 Richard

  38. Got my attention there for a minute! Thanks for the thought though @simon ! Just trying to recall whether they have ever done an offer on the 0.5 upgrade? Also just checked my account to make sure and it is still £51 inc VAT to go from 10 Pro to 10.5 Pro. They call it an update rather than an upgrade for the 0.5 version.

  40. this is not new, for example cakewalk/sonar has had "locked in" plugins for years, nevermind the pro channel, and ableton's default plugs have never been avaiable in other daws, same with reason

  41. The sound of 2020 It feels a bit strange to release a new product today, while the world seems upside down. However, it would probably be worse to get paralyzed. "Business as usual" is not the right expression, we're just doing what we can, for as long as we can. We're lucky to to be able to work from home, and today's product is actually a result of just that. Appreciate the little tings in life Ting is an instrument with 12 different percussive sounds, taken from everyday things laying around at home - such as silverware, a sofa, toy drum or a pair of car keys. Each sound is carefully multi-sampled and processed with the common goal to be musically playable. Ting is intended to be a creative tool and a substitute for ordinary drum and percussion instruments. In addition to the sounds, there is an EQ, a room simulator, a reverb and a compressor.
