  2. The modeled amp is a Bogner Ecstasy knock off. I've been eyeing yet another Ecstasy knock off by the local amp builder but couldn't decide whether I like the sound character of it or not. With this pack I can wave good bye to the hardware version and just use TH-U which sounds close enough but doesn't cost a fortune. Great buy, if you ask me.

  3. No slight taken 😎 It is a little overwhelming trying to sort all of the sound content out as it is truly a massive collection of SampleTank history. Lots of wonderful sounds to be sure.

  7. Got excited when I saw this in a Facebook add - until I went to the website and saw it needed a USB dongle 😞 Probably worth a look for those of you who have one already https://www.vsl.co.at/en/BBO

  8. I find the little intro messages when I first launch CbB to be very confusing - even misleading! One read "This one's going to be a hit" and so far that hasn't proven to be true. Basically, false advertising! (jk - of course)

  9. This list breaks down by set, SampleTank 4 MAX includes Miroslav Philharmonik 2 CE and Total Studio 2 MAX would include Miroslav Philharmonik 2 https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/include/st4/soundlist/SampleTank_4_MAX_Instruments.pdf It is linked where the other one Simeon posted is linked (the "Sounds" subnavigation on the SampleTank 4 MAX page): https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/st4/#sounds Edit, no slight on Simeon of course - I frequently post these PDFs directly and I realize I should also post the link where they are actually found

  10. Go buy a shaker (< $20!), shake it in front of a mic & be done way before you get done fiddle-farting with trying to fake it. Hell, if money is too tight, throw some beans in a can.

  12. Another comment to add to the above. The SI bass is also off by an octave IIRC, requiring you to to manually offset it. Unless you also have notes in the higher octaves, it will appear to be playing, but no sound.

  13. It finally works for me, even had an update to Albion ONE. Which it did download and install correctly.

  14. This would be my guess. Chances are Guitar Pro 7 is adding setup information to the exported files. This should be dealt with by modifying the program's export options. Cakewalk sfz engine synths shut down when encountering unexpected data. Once the data is sent to the synth, it will make no sound until the project is shutdown and restarted. There are two ways to deal with the unexpected data in MIDI clips - Open the clips in the Event List View and remove the offending data. Often the data is at the beginning of the clip. Deleting everything up to the first note may be enough or Enable "Don Not Intercept NRPNs" in the VST plug-in properties page for the synth

  17. Thanks JoeGBradford. The e-licenser key (used by Steinberg etc) apparently works OK with this. I'll give it a try and post back with my results.

  19. Not sure what the story is. Bought it for $0 at Eventide, got the serial number, loaded ilok but the license never shows up for activation. I can log into ilok or use that app and it's not there. CbB pops up the Eventide activation screen when I scan but the Quadravox isn't in the list to activate. Yes and this is the 21st Century ... Edit: I got it working. Not sure what I did, but I followed the link above, put it in the cart, went to check out, filled out everything (name, address, email) and what I thought was a user name and login. I finished up and got an email to download and use iLok for activation. I downloaded iLok, registered but it never showed up in iLok. The request to activate it would show up during the plug in scan in cakewalk but not the option to actually activate it. After some futzing I went to Eventide and noticed I didn't have a login. I created one and was able to take the SN and code from the email and register it. Bang, it shows up in iLok - Activate - done. It appears the sale isn't through Eventide but rather Audio Plugin Deals and that is where the first account login is created when you buy it. You still have to create a login at Eventide to register it and then have one for iLok to activate it (and then Cakewalk will stop bugging you.) A tad tedious if I might say so ...

  21. Hi All , Tales Of An Almost Forgotten Yesterday is a little song ditty that I just did this weekend ...( Ouch that pic is not doing the song Justice ...sorry bout that ...lol) This song started out life as a generic E Major Country Blues Progression Backing Track I had gotten from Twanger Central .... The B.T. is from this week... Week 218 and the unaltered baking track can be found in my songs description over at S C . I added a whole bunch of instruments and guitar parts to put my own stamp of musical destruction on to this track ... This song project was done all in Cakewalk by Band Lab w the exception of a pedal steel and piano part I had done over in BIAB and brought it into my Cakewalk project . I don't usually get to play Country .... when I do I enjoy playing it .... I sure hope someone here also enjoys this for what it is ... Kenny

  25. Since I imported all of my parent's music (to put on an iPod system for my Mom), I have plenty of music from this era including versions of this song by Louis Armstrong and Benny Goodman. Got a ton of Glenn Miller too, but not this song.

  26. Looking at the Sampletank 4 comparison chart here https://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/include/st4/soundlist/SampleTank_4_comparison.pdf, I see there are some sounds from Sampletank 2 XL included in the Sampletank 4 SE row. Are they included in the Sampletank 4 SE Sounds Download or only if you have Sampletank 2 XL in the account?

  29. True, Zo! I loved your walkthrough! Each amp has such unique character. It's easy to tell them apart even with effects in the chain. The presets are excellent on their own or as starting points for building out your own presets. I was torn between this and the Fortin Nameless Suite, but really happy with the purchase. I usually gravitated toward "complete" packages in the past that include everything and the kitchen sink but I really appreciate the simplicity of this tool. My new fave, hands down.

  31. I am one of those who's complained about this. More than 50% of my workflow is editing (either audio or midi). Aim-assist is absolutely essential to my well-being. I've been frustrated ever since those position numbers were added. I keep trying to see beneath them to the ticks on the timeline which is, of course, impossible. It's my fondest wish that they would either become an option or, better still, be moved somewhere that they don't obscure the timeline. Slightly below? slight above?

  32. Yes, I find shakers one of the easiest things to record and place in a track. I have a bunch of kids toys laying around for just that reason. It can be pretty amazing how adding one live part added can make the whole thing sound live. Even a bad recording of it. If I can do it I always will use a real sleigh bell, or shaker or clav sticks.

  33. I will try to answer all here: yes tried to look and edit the midi via "event viewer" there was a "NRPN" at the beginning of the file - I deleted it but the condition persisted. I do not believe it is my issue - the instrument worked until I imported the midi . . . I thought the same . . . unfortunately I do not see any export parameters with Guitar Pro I will look at this . . . and enable "Don Not Intercept NRPNs" and see what happens. I will also edit the midi first (before clicking play ) to remove the NRPNs to see what happens there. not likely in this case as I am using two different VSTs and both are acting badly with this data Thanks all for your suggestions . . . I will working on it later and report back . . . Syphus

  35. Thanks for the find Joe G I purchased an e-licenser key awhile back when I was going to move to Cubase Pro 9. I didn't go Cubase ( didn't have patience to learn a new daw), so the key sat in my computer. Great, now I have a nice freebie to put it to use.

  40. I think one of the best concerts I've been to in the last 25 years was seeing Steve Hackett about 2 years ago. Just very musical with minimum pomp and hype. I would recommend it to anyone into Genesis as well. Though he touched on a few favorite Genesis tunes it was just classic great prog - ish classical rock music. I still can't describe that genre worth a damn after 40 years. Also - catch a " Musical Box " the band - concert if you can. I think I've seen them 7-8 times and they're the best Tribute you'll find.

  42. Love the vocals. Little bit of Steely Dan in there(melody/choir/chord progression)? Maybe a little too long with the verses long notes in piano/bass? Though it makes a good transition to the chorus. Good work!
