Good point. I don't know that I'd waste time promoting plugins for Audacity, despite its huge install base. Plus Logic and Pro Tools users already self-identify as folks who have no problem spending money needlessly - clearly a more desirable market segment. Meanwhile, we cakewalkers merrily follow our own path, content in the knowledge that our solution works as well as any other. Just less-expensively.5 points

For anyone interested, t here was a recent update to the way Sound Library Updates are handled in My Products for SampleTank 4. They are now in their own location and due to this, outside of the expiration period for sounds. These can be downloaded at any time. Check out the image below. I figured a couple of you here would appreciate the heads up. ๐ค4 points

I think I got Xpand!2 half a dozen years ago for $1 or less and it's been a workhorse ever since. Got another license for it so that I can have it on all 4 computers in my possession. For sheer number and quality of standard sounds in a resource-friendly wallet-friendly package, nothing can touch it.3 points

I 2nd that! I like the colors between the markers. And if we could choose the colors, that would be even better!3 points

https://www.synthmaster.com/synthmasterplayer.aspx?referrer=facebook SynthMaster Player is a simplified version of SynthMaster with limited editing capabilities. It is targeted towards users who prefer to use presets rather than designing their own sounds. It comes with 1800 factory presets. Users can edit the 12 easy parameters or the bypass states of layer/global effects assigned for each preset by the sound designer.2 points

I'm with you. I tried jamvox and just couldn't get happy. I thought it came in last among the major ampsims.2 points

Just played a while with it. To be honest not impressed at all with sound quality. Maybe in 2013 it was cool comparing to something but today... It is a pity it is abandonware as idea is very cool... Additionally: It has very annoying bug which causes some dialog window are invisible but getting focus. Can be see only in task list and closed. Tested on Win10Pro.2 points

Does anyone know anything about JamVox? Saw it mentioned on the KVR thread but haven't heard of it before. There's a free demo so I might give it a go. https://www.jamvox-online.com/2 points

Sorry, that wasn't quite right what I said. I meant the creator, Paul Schilling, used Arturia Jup-8 V and Modular V, to create the sounds for Analog Lab. I have Arturia's latest Collection and find myself using Modular most of the time. It's really good at getting that spacey TD, Klaus Schulze kind of sound.2 points

I have the Tangerine Dream tribute which is really good and some of the arps are maybe too good. They sound really close to the familiar tracks of the original TD albums, but you can twirl some knobs and make them different. The guy who programmed those is very talented and nice to know that he used Analog Lab to come up with them.2 points

Here we go I love it , 109 $ for 5 amps , i have 24 hours to decide ...fuk got gas on Console 1 Fader , Laptop need new screen ....and i'm becoming an GTR tone addict ...well welll well ....2 points

Read this post form the old board Michael. Makes me crazy to realize we could have had the Overture quality for staff in Cakewalk, and Gibson turned it down! http://forum.cakewalk.com/Message-from-Don-Williams-Overture-5-Updated-m3699129.aspx2 points

I use Xpand!2 mainly for two reasons: 1. The ability to layer up to four different sounds in a very quick and easy way. 2. Sketching. The fast loading time/huge instrument list with easy root system makes it quick to find a good sketch sound early on in a song. Sometimes its a keeper, sometimes I later go for another sound. When an idea pops up I don't want to search for a proper sound in 20+ min (Z3TA+2, SynthMaster etc.)1 point

Nice to see you came back and explained your situation. Its appreciated and helps users in the future. The Q+A section of this forum has massive potential for Cakewalk users looking for answers in site searches. The problem is, most users don't select "best answer" or even come back to their questions once they have found a solution. Thus making it difficult to sift through multiple reply's to find the answer. Glad you did1 point

Most synths do accept bank/program change midi messages, however you need to review each synth's implementation on how to correctly craft the right midi message for that particular synth, in the documentation for that synth. It can vary between different synths. Bob Bone1 point

Not sure why you created pretty much a duplicate thread here. You already have the same thread going in the Cakewalk by Bandlab forum. Please avoid creating duplicate threads. I went ahead and locked this thread to we don't have two duplicate threads running. Bob Bone1 point

I have JS4 and CbB but I can hardly say I'm using it, just messing around. I have tried audio jam- worked, MIDI jam-worked, use JS4 as engine for SSD5 Free-worked and that's all for now No errors, no freezes, great home forum with deep knowledge information and friendly advice.1 point

Free: Oberom Oberom is a sampled version of Oberon by Land of Cockaigne, a VST plugin that is an attempt to imitate the classic analog polysynths. With its thick 2-pole dual filter, it's sound is reminiscent of the Arp 2600. Oberom comes with the original 16 sounds. They have been sampled to be faithful copies of the presets that came with Oberon. Oberom is a must-have if you produce synthwave, synthpop, vaporwave, and any other 80s influenced genres. Available as a VST/VST3/AU plugin for Windows and macOS. Best of all, Oberom will be forever free! Get Oberom Now!1 point

๐ This fella is certainly under the influence of having seen one of S.L.I.P.'s photo's ๐ The Family in the picture realized their Pooch had gotten his inspiration from this thread. To keep the Peace in the family they decided to get him his own version of an alligator ( a dry land version small enough to keep indoors ) And so , as the story ends, They lived happily for ever after in Peace and harmony on the couch Kenny PS ( the young lady's knee caps recovered in record time ) Yeah I know I'm Crazy ๐ฒ1 point

I have all the 8dio libraries in that bundle except for Clocks. They aren't all that bad but Aizerk does seem to have a more powerful UI. But it really is vastly overpriced. For $199 they should have included all 4 titles, not just these two. I have way too many trailer sound effect libraries now to add another one at this price. But if I had to pick between the two I think I'd go for the Aizerk package. 8dio's is really just a bunch of loops and their nice but not as powerful as Keep Forest's loop engine. I should also point out that you do need the full version of Kontakt for either choice.1 point

Yep presets , i never go for them , for test i check how fast i can make a tone ... check quik ly the cabinet for their tonal impact , chose one amp and go from there ... I noticed it reacts well to eqs. , and when gainstaged well , never gets arshes and in my tests it even sounded better than neural dsp witch is the reference since few releases ... Their ampeg sounds exellent also , pretty surprised how much caracter it has !! I really think this suite is dope .1 point

The words and music make for a really cute tune. The Mrs has a great voice and really compliments your style. You should use her more often. That's kind of the reality of relationships that begin online. BTW-Love that puppy!โค๏ธ ๐JB1 point

With regards to markers, I kind of like ProTools' solution of a separate marker "section" (or "track" maybe, but it doesn't look like a track really). It makes markers very easy to distinguish, albeit by sacrificing some vertical space: Image from recordingrevolution.com: https://www.recordingrevolution.com/optimize-pro-tools-marker-colors/ Something for Cakewalk to be inspired by, perhaps?1 point

I am a dino just like you as I really like to work in staff, or more correctly I would like to do it. I am hopeful something will come of the discussion of incorperating Overture in Cakewalk.1 point
