  1. Not a deal for you, but was for ME! ❤️ I got this for $460 from Sweetwater. Said it was used. It was immaculate! $440 savings! YAY ME!!! It's a PRS SE Angelus AE50e How this came about was I had ordered a used one for $600 on Reverb from Fort Wayne, IN. last Wednesday. It said "Shipping Label Printed" almost immediately. So waited for it to say "Shipped". Thursday...still says Label Printed. Friday...still says Label Printed. I contact the seller and he says that he took it to work and shipped it from there on Friday, so may not ship out until Monday. So I waited. Monday comes and the day goes by and I check again. STILL says "Label Printed". I again contact the seller. He states that he can't find if it shipped or not and is looking into it. Tuesday morning I check again and still says "Label Printed". So I contact him and tell him I want a refund. Wednesday I get my refund. I hope they didn't lose his guitar. But, that said, after I get my refund I head to Sweetwater because I saw when I was looking that they had a couple of Demo's for $809. When I checked I happened to see THIS one for $459.99! I'm like WHAT? So I check out the pictures. The only flaw they showed was pinhead size "dent" in the side of the headstock. So I ordered it. Saved $140 bucks from the OTHER one that I ordered. It just arrived and it's MINT. Yes, there is a Pinhead size "dent" in the headstock, that you would need a magnifying glass to see, and I DON'T CARE...LOL It's GORGEOUS! This is the ACTUAL Guitar I bought! Came with a Hardshell Case also...a very nice one!

  3. Just an FYI for people using the free version... There are a couple additional modules that are free and you can add them by installing them separately. Away from my computer at the moment so can't recall their names.

  4. How can I Unsubscribe from Subscription offers? 😆 To the extent that the subscription model makes sense for anything to me, it's particularly silly for me to subscribe to a plug-in bundle. I'm a big ho-bag for plug-in deals in the first place so I have to watch it to make sure that my drive doesn't fill up with a bunch of great stuff that I wind up never using on projects. I need to be careful to only even download and keep things that I know I will make use of. The idea of paying monthly for a collection of plug-ins I might use 5% of is insanity. First, I'm not so into bundles. It would be like going to a woodworking store that carries Porter-Cable and telling them to give me one each of everything P-C makes whether I actually need a router, circular saw, jointer, planer, drill, etc. I may already have a Hitachi drill that works great, I might never use a jointer. I may not even like P-C's model of sabre saw. I might make an exception for Meldaproduction. 😂 Next is the subscription model itself. I think it works in situations where the software is used in a commercial environment where it's used to generate income. A graphic design house can just pay Adobe every month for their software and be done with it. It's another invoice. Where someone's a broke bedroom musician who saves up to buy one $25 Waves plug-in at a time every 2 months, and it's regularly going to be down to buying groceries or making rent vs. paying their $12.95 plug-in subscription, no way, not now, not ever dream on.

  8. Michael - thanks for this. I had everything from Hollow Sun and Hideaway Studios up until the time Stephen Howell passed. Since Dan had worked closely with Stephen I had the impression the momentum sort of slowed from that point. Apparently he had kept going and adding after all! I hadn't revisited Hideaway Studios for a while, and see that Dan has put out some nice stuff over the past several years. This discount allowed me to catch up on a few items that Dan had subsequently released. They sound great, and even though they are a bargain in general, this discount put the bargain over the top. And, not to miss the point - these sound fantastic.

  10. I thought it was just me that was getting sick of all of the different ways to subscribe. Instead of offering plugins by one manufacturer, it would make more sense to me to offer subscriptions based on different work flows (e.g. mastering/mixing) or music genres (e.g. rap/EDM). Regardless of bundle combination though, I don't think I'm going to bite. I have a diverse enough collection of plugins and while I still add to it (must learn to control GAS), there has to be a really good reason to do so through a sub.

  13. The default record mode is Comping. You can change it to Overwrite or Sound on Sound if you prefer the more classic record modes. By default in comping mode only the most recent take is audible and others are muted. There is no need to switch to the mute tool to unmute because everything can be done via the default smart tool by clicking or dragging in the bottom half of the clip to isolate the areas you want. Pay attention to the help module tips when you hover over clips and it will show you more information about the tools and zones. You can read more about Comping here.

  17. Long shot, but maybe: In older OSes, if I set the display text/screen in Windows to be > 100%, I would get areas cutoff where things were normally visible at 100%. Any chance you have a Windows setting of greater than 100%? On my tower, I used Ease-of-Access to boost size to 125% and had a visible working scroll bar. So this is probably not the cause of your issue. On your nice, large, clear screen shot of the Start Screen, I see several things that look different than my Cakewalk Start Screen. I am not sure if I picked up son settings from something other than the newest Cakewalk, but mine says "SONAR" where your's says "Let's Get Started." You have an interior frame underneath the title bar (where it says "Cakewalk Start Screen"). I can see where Let's Get Started is now cutoff (as well as the left edge of the interior section with the frame. I assume that is because you had to grab the interior and slide it to the left to see the now clearly visible scroll bar. I am not knowledgeable enough about Windows' GUI (nor how Cakewalk uses it) to make a guess as to why you have a frame inside that you can grab and move, but it seems to me that interior frame should be smaller so it all fits. Maybe there is a setting that makes it larger and that's why you have a frame and I don't.

  19. The way I see it after some testing (with the most neutral settings): 24 and 80 when used across individual tracks have a subtle cumulative effect. On the master bus are almost nonexistent. 99 and 440 are not so subtle across individual tracks, but give great results on the master bus. Bear in mind, these plugs are CPU hungry and can easily cause dropouts, if you have too many tracks. In such case you'd want to use them only on buses, not individual tracks. HTH.

  21. Cakewalk by BandLab comes with these three very nice and useful VST effects, two of them are multi-FX processors oriented toward vocals (VX-64) and percussion (PX-64), the other is a saturation processor (TL-64) with multiple controls. The VX and PX carry only Cakewalk branding, the TL also says "powered by Studio Devil). Unfortunately, by default, they are "excluded" in the terminology of the Plug-In Manager, and in order to use them the user must use Plug-In Manager to change their status so that they show up as available in the FX racks and lists. Every time a new version of CbB installs, the installer flips their status back to "excluded" and the user must again use Plug-In Manager to enable them. They were enabled as part of the SONAR Platinum suite. I read on the forum that some of the Style Dials use their resources. I don't know what the barrier is to making them available by default.

  22. Hi forum folks Here's a new song that I co-wrote with Patty Lakamp (lyrics) and has James Griffiths playing on guitar. Lyrics below link The Next Level © 2019 Lyrics by Patty Lakamp Music by Daryl Greenway Performed by Staypress Guitar by James Griffiths @jyemz V1 I’m happy with my girlfriend But we have a looming issue Just what is this Next Level She wants to take us to? V2 I’m really only guessing Cuz it’s hard for me to picture And what is it exactly She wants me to deliver Chorus The dreaded Next Level Scares me half to death She’s got me unsettled And out of my depth I’m not sure what I’m s’posed to do All she said is Something New I hope it's not too stressful That dreaded Next Level Instr. Break V3 She has these expectations I might need a refresher I really don’t want to lose her, but I don't perform well under pressure Chorus The dreaded Next Level Scares me half to death She’s got me unsettled And out of my depth I’m not sure what I’m s’posed to do All she said is Something New I hope it's not too stressful That dreaded Next Level Instr. Break Bridge How many levels are there? And what comes after this? And what does she expect of me? And what if I resist? And why can’t we just stay right here? I like the way it is Chorus The dreaded Next Level Scares me half to death She’s got me unsettled And out of my depth I’m not sure what I’m s’posed to do All she said is Something New I hope it's not too stressful That dreaded Next Level It sounds experimental That dreaded Next Level

  28. Have you set plugin scan to Manual, or is it still doing it automatically every time SONAR starts? Waves plugins do take a long time to scan due to the way the WavesShell works. I'd recommend setting your VST Scan to Manual within Preferences and doing a manual scan when you add a plugin.

  29. Sorry to hear all that ...I hope it can be salvaged and set right for you . I'm very happy over here w my purchase ...all is good . I started w Voltage Modular free , Bumped up to Nucleus (also free in this time frame as an add on ). Then I grabbed Ignite for $25 ( Half Price ) then I went with the deal Cherry Audio has for Core w Misfit Audio Electric Drums ..$ 25 ( on sale as an upgrade for $125 .00 less than the advertised cost ) I'm have so much fun w this synth ...it has a great sound to it and to be honest even the free w Nucleus would have kept my busy for a while all the best , Kenny

  30. You could try renaming that folder and see if causes any problems when you open up some projects. That way it's easy to restore if you need to. I was thinking about doing the same at some point; If you give it a go, let us know how it turns out.

  31. Depends if mastering is your job a just a quik stage to get something banging ....if you master Ozone and have no issue with it (stable) the answer is n ope !! But as gearslutz tha we all are around , the answer would be .... more more more !!! More seriously as a pro (still fortunate enouth to make a living of my skills) , most of the time i do fast move during mastering ( regular plugins and Tracks is enougth) but if i get hired for mastering seriuous stuff that needs a lot of fixes , ozone is what i would use ...

  34. If you already own another product from OVERLOUD's GEM range you should have a code in your account for 20% off any further GEM products. SO maybe wait to see what price they have it for on the OVERLOUD site, doesn't seem to be there yet. It also seems like they have the GEM products already around $20 or so off

  42. MM, are you saying that you want a project to play the metronome, perhaps to practice to, with no data in the tracks? I don't think that is possible. Instead, set it up to record with no input and the met set to play on record.

  43. Thanks for the encouragement @Jim Fogle 😀 I'll see if I can modify the compander to work with controller data in addition to velocity... or maybe just modify it into a separate effect for now. I like the Transform tool for smaller changes, but an MFX might be useful for track-wide CC modifications.

  44. Thanks guys! I'm really enjoying my new role as a Baker. It's a huge change after being in software development management elsewhere for the past 20 years, but I certainly won't miss the politics of my previous job. I've joined a fantastic team of incredibly nice and talented guys, all who are passionate and focused on continuing to improve and deliver the best experience we can for all of you. I'll try to keep as active as I can here on the forums, but I'm still getting to grips with 30 years worth of Cakewalk code, so I may not be quite as active as I once was in the short term. There's a bunch of exciting new things in the road map (as well as some bugs to fix), so I'm hoping my being here will make them a reality a bit sooner.
