  1. Thks for sharing , one thing for sure is that what's happening with PA is a BIG reminder for me , like the Gibson debacle .... i minimise tools now and stick with options that can be replaceble on the fly ... and yesturday i just made a TOP 3 in every area easily without any PA just to see ..group compression wise the Vertigo VSC 3 , AR-1 and Magic Death eyes gets you covered anyday , when it come to channel strip the SSL Duende , the Scheps OmniChannel and even the eventide can handle any scenarios !!

  2. Oh, my, that IS remote. Be prepared - you will absolutely draw crowds there. You'll be tallest person on the island and the only one with hair on your face and arms. Having been in exactly that situation (being in a place where they've never seen a white person up close before) several times, here's a tip: take a bag of candy with you to hand out to the throngs of children that will look upon you like you're a rock star from Mars.

  5. I'm not sure what you mean. The iZotope Portal is just a downloader like Native Access. You don't have to buy directly from iZotope to use it. I bought the Upgrade to the Music Production Suite at AudioDeluxe and they sent me a serial number. I input the serial number into the iZotope Portal and downloaded everything. I wish IK Multimedia could come up with a system as easy to use as the downloaders from iZotope, Native Instruments, Output, Addictive Drums, etc.

  11. 2019.07 brings major usability enhancements, including Comping and Take lane enhancements, Smart Tool customization, Control Bar module alignment and over 150 bug fixes. Features & Enhancements For new feature details, see New Features. Read the detailed 2019.07 Feature Overview Comping and Take lane enhancements Freely assemble clips in track lanes either by recording or dragging and dropping from different sources. Configure the Smart Tool to disable comping features while editing audio on lanes and re-enable it when you are ready to start building a comp track. Smart Tool customization The Smart tool can be customized in order to enable specific functions, including Move, Crop, Fade, Draw, and Comp. The Smart tool and Select tool have new icons. Center Control Bar modules Control Bar modules can be left-aligned, justified, or centered. Copy/paste and drag drop enhancements Copy/paste and drag drop enhancements, including full support for drag and drop of Take lanes between tracks, and improved drag drop preview to visually represent the final data. Help module content for Clips In addition to a brief description of the clip type, the Help Module also lists common Smart tool gestures that are supported by each unique clip type. Selection markers in time ruler The time ruler now shows draggable markers at either end of the time selection range. You can modify the start or end of the selection by dragging these markers or move the entire time selection by dragging the selection range bar. Loop and Punch marker enhancements The time ruler now uses more intuitive mouse cursors for selection, loop, punch and marker drag bars and handles. The mouse cursor shows a letter to indicate which marker will be modified before you actually click the marker: S (Selection), L (Loop), P (Punch), and M (Marker). You can drag a Loop or Punch marker past its paired sibling marker in order to flip the range in the opposite direction. 13. Hey guys, I wanted to show my support for Cakewalk by Bandlab.. I was never a Cakewalk user, but now that its free i was tempted to download and try it out. The main DAW's i spend a lot of personal time with in the past are: Cubase, Studio one and Reason. I really feel now that Cakwalk is free, everybody should know about it, and that its a fully fledged 30 years in the making DAW! And anybody would be nuts spending a lot of money if they can all have it for free. (Exept if you are after a particular function in a DAW that Cakewalk does not have) But for general recording/producing/mixing... Cakewalk rocks just as hard as the payed one's and on some point even better. I know its free and i cant ask for anything because this is already so cool as it is... but i think some extra bling bling feature would persuade new user to go this route instead of the payed one's. If you guys could integrate something like Studio One has, with the circle of fifths and chord track.. i think something like that will make it stand out more.. I really hope Bandlab can attract a lot of users and keep this going i love it. Thanks!!

  16. This sounds like you want to use Cakewalk to record audio, not MIDI data. BUT--maybe you want to (1) play the Maschine, (2) send MIDI data from the Maschine into your computer, (3) record the MIDI data in Cakewalk [not sounds, but data], and (4) have Cakewalk playback the MIDI data to the Maschine. Maybe others can make suggestions if you specify which you are trying to do. Steve

  22. Processor speed and hard drive speed Same as #1, hard drive speed and processor speed. Make use you have a dedicated hard drive for audio only. do not put audio project on your C drive Ram, Processor speed, hard drive speed and how well your audio drivers are written for that audio interface That monitors your entire PC, so you have other programs running in the background. So your PC is doing hundreds of task in the background. FYI: 59% doesn't mean your DAW is using 59%, as you are looking at your entire PC. yuo need to look at the CPU monitors inside your DAW

  32. Right - session has one bank with about 16 presets, while the full version has 7 banks with a lot more presets. The full version also allows editing Hammer, Fork, Pickup, Damper, and Tremolo, while also providing the ability to fully configure the effects vs the session versions ""OneKnob" or "Style Dial" type options.

  37. @Jesse Screed - ha! glad you like it and thanks, I think a silent film soundtrack would be cool! @jwnicholson78 - two excellent points. Thanks! It's obscure, and utterly unknowable to the listener, but that piano part "breakdown" represents something. That's all played in by me one take, unedited. Previously in bands I have been guilty of soloing too long, and in this case, the other band pieces have just stopped - and there I go, slowly realizing that I am the only one playing. It's embarrassing but ya gotta keep going . . . and then eventually it all comes back together. I'm sure that just leaves the listener utterly clueless as to what is going on - - - but that I think is intentional on my part. It adds something to the demented nature? Anyway, thanks so much, your input was very useful! @amiller - very cool, glad you liked it and thanks for the ear time. @Rik - the tuba I never thought of but it's a great add. I'll scour about one. Thanks for the listen!

  38. I used to have a hum issue in the first bedroom I tried putting a studio in (previous house I had). I bought one of these and still have it! Turned out, the previous owners (who built the house) had cut many corners and most of the house wasn't even grounded! When that and all the other code issues were finally fixed, I was out over $91k(!) but the hum issue was gone. After that, every one of my many racks all had a Furman Power Conditioner in one of the rack spaces. Another thing I carried with me whenever I played out or did "roadie" duties is one of these: A few people would still be alive if they had checked the outlets before connecting their gear!

  43. Set the preset, "Cryin." Use one finger or sometimes two to play legato. No key switches. Forget about everything and play. If you want to work in your DAW afterwards to add other articulations (harmonics, etc) and effects, it's easy to do.

  44. I have the OTS slides and they are very nice too. I have just bought this new one from Indiginus and I like it more. Its very immediate and easy to use in comparison to the OTS ones. The OTS ones have more features and they are probably complimentary.

  46. Just downloading but the fact that the bug fix list is so long makes me very happy indeed. I don't need new features. I need what is there to work and to be rock solid. My clients don't need new features they need this thing to be reliable. And it seems this is the direction you are taking. And I love it. Thank you and Bandlab team! I love this Software. If I had a magic wand there are only two things I would like to see: 1) Further improvements to plugin load balancing are always always very welcome. If CbB was to reach Reaper levels of efficiency I would be a very happy man. 2) If we could color markers in the time ruler comparable to Pro Tools my sessions would be even easier to maneuver. So for instance marker section A in red and marker section B in green etc.
    1 point
  47. BTW....this was all done in Sonar X3 originally and then the additions were done in CbB just recently....so it's been a work in progress for quite a while. I finally got around to finishing it (for now, because a Mix Engineer is NEVER done LOL)
